Peripheral neuropathy (PN) is a significant cause of morbidity associated with Waldenström macroglobulinemia (WM). The phase 3 ASPEN study compared the efficacy and safety of zanubrutinib with ibrutinib in patients with WM. This ad hoc analysis examined treatment outcomes with zanubrutinib or ibrutinib on PN symptoms associated with WM in patients enrolled in ASPEN.

Objectives: We aimed to examine the relationship between occupational exposure to extremely low-frequency magnetic fields (ELF-MFs) and follicular lymphoma (FL) risk.
Methods: We conducted a family case-control study between 2011 and 2016 in Australia and included 681 cases. Controls were either a family member of cases (related (n=294), unrelated (n=179)) or were unrelated recruited for a similarly designed Australian multiple myeloma study (n=711).
The primary analysis of MAGNOLIA, an open-label, single-arm, multicenter, phase 2 study, demonstrated that the next-generation Bruton tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor zanubrutinib provided a high overall response rate (ORR) in patients with relapsed/refractory marginal zone lymphoma (R/R MZL), with a favorable safety/tolerability profile. Presented here, is the final analysis of MAGNOLIA, performed to characterize the durability of response and longer-term safety and tolerability. Zanubrutinib (160Â mg twice daily) was evaluated in 68 patients with R/R MZL who had received at least 1 anti-CD20-directed regimen.

Background And Aims: Preeclampsia (PE) is associated with life-long increased risk of cardiovascular disease. One of the main protective functions of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) is its role in reverse cholesterol transport. HDL-mediated cholesterol efflux capacity (CEC) is decreased during pregnancy in women with PE.

Introduction And Hypothesis: This systematic review (PROSPERO:CRD42022275789) is aimed at comparing qualitatively the success, recurrence, and complication rates of sacrocolpopexy with concomitant hysterectomy, hysteropexy, sacrospinous fixation (SSF) with and without vaginal hysterectomy (VH) and uterosacral fixation (USF) with and without VH.
Methods: A systematic search was performed using Embase, PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane databases for studies published from 2011, on women with apical pelvic organ prolapse requiring surgical interventions. Risk of bias was assessed via the National Institutes of Health study quality assessment tool.

Patients with post-haemopoietic stem cell transplant or chimeric antigen receptor T -cell (CAR-T) therapy face a significant risk of morbidity and mortality from coronavirus disease 2019 because of their immunosuppressed state. As case numbers in Australia and New Zealand continue to rise, guidance on management in this high-risk population is needed. Whilst we have learned much from international colleagues who faced high infection rates early in the pandemic, guidance relevant to local health system structures, medication availability and emerging therapies is essential to equip physicians to manage our patients optimally.

Background: The influence of early-life growth pattern and body size on follicular lymphoma (FL) risk and survival is unclear. In this study, we aimed to investigate the association between gestational age, growth during childhood, body size, changes in body shape over time, and FL risk and survival.
Methods: We conducted a population-based family case-control study and included 706 cases and 490 controls.

Objective: Patients with schizophrenia have increased long-term mortality attributable to cardiovascular disease and commonly demonstrate features of mixed dyslipidemia with low HDL-C (high-density lipoprotein cholesterol). The removal of cholesterol from cells by HDL via specific ATP-binding cholesterol transporters is a major functional property of HDL, and its measurement as cholesterol efflux capacity (CEC) can predict cardiovascular risk. Whether HDL function is impaired in patients with schizophrenia is unknown.

A pragmatic cluster-randomized trial (CRT) is a research design that may be used to efficiently test promising interventions that directly inform dialysis care. While the Ottawa Statement on the Ethical Design and Conduct of Cluster Randomized Trials provides general ethical guidance for CRTs, the dialysis setting raises additional considerations. In this article, we outline ethical issues raised by pragmatic CRTs in dialysis facilities.

Purpose: The mid-urethral synthetic sling (MUS) procedure has become the standard of care for treatment of female stress urinary incontinence. However, a small number of patients will have complications following MUS including failure, obstructive voiding, sling erosion, or chronic pain. This paper discusses the role of 2D and 3D ultrasound imaging in the evaluation of the female patient with complications following placement of a synthetic mid-urethral sling.

Dialysis technologies have continued to advance over recent decades; however, these advancements have not always been met with improved patient outcomes. In part, the high morbidity and mortality associated with dialysis have been attributed to a group of uremic toxins, which are described as "difficult to remove." With a new generation of hemodialysis membranes now making meaningful clearance of these molecules possible, it is an apt time to review the clinical relevance of these middle molecules.

Background: People with diabetes and kidney disease have a high risk of cardiovascular events and progression of kidney disease. Sodium glucose co-transporter 2 inhibitors lower plasma glucose by reducing the uptake of filtered glucose in the kidney tubule, leading to increased urinary glucose excretion. They have been repeatedly shown to induce modest natriuresis and reduce HbA1c, blood pressure, weight, and albuminuria in patients with type 2 diabetes.
