An innovative and universal imprinted sensor design for sandwich type detection of gemcitabine (GMT) in human serum samples is described. GMT is widely used in the treatment of different tumors, such as lung, ovarian, pancreatic, and breast cancer. The serum albumin-drug interaction was translated to design a multifunctional, ratiometric and dual mode silver nanoparticle based probe (BSA-Ag nanoprobe), as a read out system.

Context: Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), a member of the HER receptor family, is over expressed in various cancer cells. Using tumor-specific antibodies to deliver cytotoxic agents directly to the tumor cells is an effective treatment strategy. Targeted therapy by fusing anti-EGFR scFv with tumor-specific cytokines promises the emergence of a new era.

Purpose: Numerous carbohydrate polymers are frequently used in wound-dressing films because they are highly effective materials for promoting successful wound healing. In this study, we prepared amikacin (AM)-containing hydrogel films through the cross-linking of chitosan (CS) with folic acid along with methacrylic acid (MA), ammonium peroxodisulfate (APS), and methylenebisacrylamide (MBA). In the current studies, an effort has been made to look at the possibilities of these materials in developing new hydrogel film wound dressings meant for a slow release of the antibiotic AM and to enhance the potential for wound healing.

Purpose: Grounding on the supplies-values fit theory, this study examines the effect of green HRM practices on an employee's in-role green behavior after the Covid-19 pandemic. Moreover, this study examined the mediating role of psychological green climate between green HRM practices and in-role green behaviour. In addition, we studied that spiritual leadership as a buffering mechanism strengthens the relation between psychological green climate and employee in-role behavior.

Accumulation of heavy metals in the environment can pose a potential risk to living organisms. Ingestion of leafy vegetables, containing heavy metals, is one of the main routes through which these elements enter the human body. The present study was conducted to assess the accumulation of lead (Pb) and zinc (Zn) in spinach grown on metal contaminated soil, and to examine the bioassimilation of these metals in spinach-fed rabbits.

Infectious agents cause serious diseases in humans worldwide and are responsible for the high rate of morbidity and mortality. The prevalence and epidemiology of infectious disease (HCV) in the hospital visited patients referred by the physicians through the initial findings and their associated risk factors were studied in Swat. The data of 174 infected patients were collected during the period of 2015 to 2017 from two clinical laboratories of Tehsil Matta Swat.

The study was aimed to improve the aqueous solubility of atorvastatin (AT) and ameliorate permeability of metformin (MT) in a combination formulation, improving their oral bioavailability. Several AT-MT loaded polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and hyaluronic acid (HA) based nanoparticles were prepared through electrospraying method (ES-NPs), and tested for physicochemical, in vitro, and in vivo parameters. Among the trialed formulations, a sample consisting of AT, MT, PVP, and HA at the weight ratio of 1/6.

In the current study, for the first time; the drug loading efficacy of graphitic‑carbon nitride (g-C3N4) for an anticancer drug, cisplatin was evaluated. To explore the effectiveness of g-C3N4 as a drug-delivery system, some important properties of cisplatin drug, g-C3N4 carrier, and g-C3N4-cisplatin complex were calculated at ground state and excited state. The cisplatin drug prefers to interact via H atoms to the N atoms of g-C3N4 carrier with an adsorption energy of about -1.

This study aims to extract acorn protein isolate (API) from locally abundant waste acorn fruit and investigate its emulsification behavior by mixing different protein (0.1-2% w/v) and oil volume concentrations (5-45% v/v). Significant decrease in emulsifying activity index (EAI) and an increase in emulsifying stability index (ESI) were observed with an increase in API concentrations (P < 0.

The present study aimed to explore a new source of montmorillonite and to develop an extraction and purification protocol for its isolation from raw clay samples acquired from the Koh-e-Suleiman mountain range in Pakistan. The process involved the collection of raw clay from the source, identification and quantification of montmorillonite. Granulometric extraction and purification protocols increased the montmorillonite content from 21.

The over expression of melanogenic enzymes like tyrosinase caused many hyperpigmentaion disorders. The present work describes the synthesis of hydroxy substituted 2-[(4-acetylphenyl)amino]-2-oxoethyl derivatives and as antimelanogenic agents. The tyrosinase inhibitory activity of synthesized derivatives and was determined and it was found that derivative possesses excellent activity with IC = 0.

The geometric, electronic and excited state properties of chlorambucil, phosphorene and the phosphorene-chlorambucil complex were evaluated to explore the efficiency of phosphorene as a drug-delivery system. The nature of interaction between phosphorene and chlorambucil is illustrated through a non-covalent interaction (NCI) plot, which illustrated that weak forces of interaction are present between phosphorene and chlorambucil.

The design and fabrication of solar cells have recently witnessed the exploration of non-fullerene-based acceptor molecules for higher efficiency. In this study, the optical and electronic properties of four new three-dimensional (3D) star-shaped acceptor molecules (M1, M2, M3, and M4) are evaluated for use as acceptor molecules in organic solar cells. These molecules contain a triphenylamine donor core with diketopyrrolopyrrole acceptor arms linked via a thiophene bridge unit.
