Objective: This systematic review aimed to summarize and evaluate the available information regarding the performance of artificial intelligence on dental implant classification and peri-implant pathology identification in 2D radiographs.

Data Sources: Electronic databases (Medline, Embase, and Cochrane) were searched up to September 2024 for relevant observational studies and both randomized and controlled clinical trials. The search was limited to studies published in English from the last 7 years.

Background: Sutures have been the standard flap closure method of choice following mandibular third molar surgery but can lead to some complications. Tissue adhesives, including cyanoacrylate, have emerged as alternative flap closure method in this surgery to overcome such drawbacks. However, limited clinical trials can be found.

Objectives: To evaluate the diagnostic performance of three versions of a deep-learning convolutional neural network in terms of object detection and segmentation using a multiclass panoramic radiograph dataset.

Methods: A total of 600 orthopantomographies were randomly selected for this study and manually annotated by a single operator using an image annotation tool (COCO Annotator v.11.

Background: Surgical extraction of the lower third molar (LTM) may trigger neurosensory injury of the inferior alveolar nerve, making extraction a real challenge. This study set out to assess whether is it possible to predict neurosensory alterations from preoperative imaging.

Material And Methods: A total of 99 patients underwent 124 impacted lower third molar (ILTM) surgeries.

Background: Zygomatic implants have been used to treat severe atrophy maxilla. Since its description, the technique has been improved in order to reduce patient morbidity as well as prosthesis rehabilitation time. Despite the improvements in the procedure, zygomatic implant treatments still have complications related to the peri-implant soft-tissue; a probing depth greater than 6 millimeter (mm) and a prevalence of bleeding on probing of 45% have been described.

Objectives: To evaluate the diagnostic reliability of a web-based Artificial Intelligence program on the detection and classification of dental structures and treatments present on panoramic radiographs.

Methods: A total of 300 orthopantomographies (OPG) were randomly selected for this study. First, the images were visually evaluated by two calibrated operators with radiodiagnosis experience that, after consensus, established the "ground truth".

Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of a gel-containing propolis extract, nanovitamin C, and nanovitamin E as adjuvants to professional plaque removal on desquamative gingivitis (DG).

Materials And Methods: A randomized clinical trial was conducted on patients suffering DG due to mucocutaneous diseases. Patients received professional supragingival prophylaxis with oral hygiene instructions and were randomly assigned to use test or control gels as toothpaste and to apply it on DG lesions 3 times/day for 4 weeks.

Department of Public Health and Maternal and Child Health, Complutense University of Madrid. Plaza Ramón y Cajal, S/n., 28040, Madrid, Spain; CIBER of Epidemiology and Public Health (CIBERESP). Monforte de Lemos, 3-5. 28029, Madrid, Spain; Health Research Institute of the Hospital Clínico San Carlos (IdISSC), Calle Del Profesor Martín Lagos. 28040, Madrid, Spain.

We aimed to assess the effect of the 2008 crisis on road traffic collision (RTC) mortality in Spain, by socioeconomic position (SEP) and type of road use. This prospective, country-wide study covered all adults living in Spain and aged ≥30 years in November 2001. The long-term effect of the crisis was assessed by measuring the monthly percentage change (MPC) in RTC mortality between the pre-crisis (2002-2007) and crisis period (2008-2011).

(1) Objectives: The aim is to measure the influence of different intraoral (crowding and molar inclination) and extraoral (surface material and ambient light) conditions on the efficacy and efficiency of intraoral scanning. (2) Methods: In a controlled in vitro experimental study, the samples were divided into six groups showing two types of intraoral conditions-lower incisor crowding (groups 1-3) and lower molar mesial tipping (groups 4-6). Each modified model was replicated using three types of materials with different light-absorption properties ( = 18 models).
