Background: Alveolar soft-part sarcoma (ASPS) is a rare tumor driven by the ASPSCR1-TFE3 fusion protein, with a propensity for metastasis. Prognostic factors remain poorly understood, and traditional chemotherapies are largely ineffective. Recent interest lies in immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), yet predictive biomarkers for treatment response are lacking.

Background: Few data are available on long-term drug therapy and its potential prognostic impact after Takotsubo syndrome (TTS). Aim of the study is to evaluate clinical characteristics and long-term outcome of TTS patients on Renin Angiotensin system inhibitors (RASi).
Methods: TTS patients were enrolled in the international multicenter GEIST (GErman Italian Spanish Takotsubo) registry.

Patients with first-episode psychoses (FEP) exhibit heterogeneity in clinical manifestations and outcomes. This study investigated the long-term trajectories of six key psychopathological dimensions (reality-distortion, negative, disorganization, catatonia, mania and depression) in patients diagnosed with FEP. A total of 243 patients were followed up for 20 years and the trajectories of the dimensions were analysed using growth mixture modelling.

Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (VEGFR-TKIs) are key antiangiogenic drugs for renal cancer treatment. While Von Hippel-Lindau dysfunction constitutes the base for VEGFR-TKIs sensitivity, the role for individual and concurrent mutations in the genes encoding for the chromatin remodelers Polybromo-1 () and Lysine Demethylase 5C () is poorly understood. Here, we analyzed the tumor mutational and expression profiles of 155 unselected clear cell RCC (ccRCC) cases treated with first-line VEGFR-TKIs and the ccRCC cases of IMmotion151 trial were used for validation.

Crossed testicular ectopia (CTE) is an extremely rare anomaly of urogenital development. The etiopathogenic mechanism is unknown. Medical records of two biological siblings with a confirmed diagnosis of CTE being managed at our center were collected.

The Consensus Document on the Prevention of Frailty and Falls approved by the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System in 2014 provides recommendations for the screening of frailty and falls in all older adults in order to develop a management plan in high risk older adults so to prevent disability. This review describes the intrinsic relationship between frailty and falls, falls assessment and screening instruments to use and detect frailty and finally gives evidence-based recommendations to reduce falls impact.

We compared the frequency, clinical characteristics and outcomes of adults with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and infection in the first vs. second pandemic waves in Spain.

In neoplastic disease, the decision to initiate administration of curative therapies, especially immunotherapy, should be taken only after any potential risks have been taken into account. Geriatric patients are more susceptible to developing more serious adverse reactions than the younger population.

Although infantile hemangiomas are occasional benign vascular tumors that appear predominantly on the skin, 1-2% of patients may have airway lesions that can sometimes cause potentially life-threatening respiratory condi-tions. The decision was made to immediately commence treatment with propranolol, without waiting to complete the exten-sion and syndromic diagnoses.

They are infrequent, located in the submucosa, and can be asymptomatic or cause intestinal obstruction, anaemia or ferropenia. Their initial diagnosis is usually endoscopic despite the absence of pathognomonic features.

Methods: Study of a cohort of 175 patients undergoing pure or mixed coronary myocardial revascularisation surgery at a heart surgery unit, recruited between 2008 and 2010 and monitored for ten years. Descriptive and logistic regression (OR and 95%CI) analysis were carried out, along with an analysis of survival by Kaplan Meier and Cox uni- and multivariate regression (HR and 95%CI) in the short- (one year) and long-term (ten years).
We present the case of a 14-year-old female patient with a big muscle hernia in the thigh after extraction of a fascia lata strip to repair bilateral congenital ptosis. After three weeks, a progressive emergence of a large bulge between the two thigh incisions in a standing position was noticeable, with local discomfort, dull pain on exertion and unsightly ap-pearance that worried the patient. On surgery three months later, a large tear in the fascia lata and muscle herniation was revealed.

Method: Prospective descriptive study that, using the SF-12v2 health questionnaire and different socio-demographic and clinical variables, evaluated during a two-year follow-up the HRQoL of patients who had received myocardial revascularization surgery in the Cardiac Surgery service.
Results: One hundred and seventy-five patients were included with an average age of 67 years (range 45-84), 85.
With the recent popularization of button batteries, the incidence of cases of children who ingest them has risen. Unlike other foreign bodies, button batteries are more likely to develop severe complications due to the possibility of early injury to the tissues in direct contact with them. We present the case of a 22-month-old boy who ingested a button battery which subsequently became lodged in the cervical esophagus.

We report the case of a boy aged 13 years and 9 months, with predominantly right-sided spastic tetraparesis, who could walk with assistance, GMFCS III, phenotype consistent with adiposogenital syndrome. He presented a 4-week history of left-sided limp without pain, radiologically classified as a stable, chronic slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE) with mild slippage (<30º) on the Southwick classification. In situ fixation of the hip was performed using a full-headed screw, followed by six weeks of rest.

Its use can cause hyperglycemia, hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia; thus, metabolic values should be monitored regularly to prevent these adverse events. We present the case of a woman with an intestinal neuroendocrine tumor who developed two episodes of acute pancreatitis, secondary to severe hypertriglyceridemia caused by everolimus.

Material And Methods: Retrospective study of 150 patients undergoing surgery for midline neck mass suggestive of TGDC (2008-2018). We analyzed epidemiological variables and compared the correlation between diagnostic ultrasound imaging and surgical findings, considering previous episodes of local infection.
The constant advances in the field of lung cancer immunotherapy have recently reached the treatment of locally advanced disease with the approval of durvalumab after concurrent chemoradiation. However, radiation therapy continues to be key for controlling the disease at this stage. Over the years, different strategies have been employed to try to optimize outcomes using radiotherapy, with cardiac and pulmonary toxicity as the main limitation on its success.
