Introduction: Dual inhibition with a T-cell immunoreceptor with immunoglobulin and ITIM domains plus programmed death (ligand)-1 (PD[L]-1) inhibitors, with or without chemotherapy, is an emerging therapeutic strategy in metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (mNSCLC). The STAR-121 (NCT05502237) phase III, global, randomized, open-label study will investigate first-line domvanalimab (anti-TIGIT) and zimberelimab (anti-PD-1) plus chemotherapy versus pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy in mNSCLC with no actionable gene alterations.

Background: The diabetogenic effect of statins has been well established by clinical trials, Mendelian randomisation studies and meta-analyses. According to large clinical trials, PCSK9 inhibitors (PCSK9i) have no deleterious impact on glucose metabolism. However, few real-life studies have yet evaluated the long-term effects of these drugs on glucose homeostasis and their impact on new-onset diabetes (NODM).

We present the case of a 37-year-old male patient with symptoms compatible with adenoviral conjunctivitis of 5 days' evolution. Topical corticosteroids, lubricants and removal of pseudomembranes were prescribed. PCR analysis of conjunctival exudate was positive for Monkeypox virus.

Background: Monitoring of adverse events induced by cosmetics performed by health authorities, known as cosmetovigilance, has been relied on the collection of case notifications.

Objectives: We aimed to show how a contact dermatitis registry can contribute to the cosmetovigilance of emerging allergens. We used the example of phenylethyl resorcinol, an infrequent allergen with only 6 previous cases reported in Europe and Japan since 2013.

Objectives: This study aimed to assess the real use of cefazolin for methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) infective endocarditis (IE) in the Spanish National Endocarditis Database (GAMES) and to compare it with antistaphylococcal penicillin (ASP).

Methods: Prospective cohort study with retrospective analysis of a cohort of MSSA IE treated with cloxacillin and/or cefazolin. Outcomes assessed were relapse; intra-hospital, overall, and endocarditis-related mortality; and adverse events.

Primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is a complex autoimmune disease whose hallmark is a deregulation of cellular and humoral immunity leading to increased destruction and reduced production of platelets. The heterogeneity of presentation and clinical course hampers personalized approaches for diagnosis and management. In 2021, the Spanish ITP Group (GEPTI) of the Spanish Society of Hematology and Hemotherapy (SEHH) updated a consensus document that had been launched in 2011.

Maternal age, obesity and hyperglycaemia are associated with a delay in preimplantation embryo development in mouse.

In Brief: Fertility has decreased due to advanced maternal age and the rising prevalence of the metabolic syndrome. Using quantitative image analysis methods, we show that these factors are associated with delayed preimplantation embryo development in a mouse model.
