Nanocomposites of 20% and 30% Co-doped Ni/NiO were synthesized using a microwave-assisted sol-gel auto-combustion method. The 30% Co-doped Ni/NiO nanocomposite exhibited negative magnetoresistance (M-R) at various temperatures, including 2 K, 10 K, 80 K, 100 K, and 250 K. This behavior is interpreted as indicative of a Kondo-like scattering effect.

Purpose And Aim: Modern generation linear accelerator (linac) either generates X-rays with a flattening filter (WFF beam) or without flattening filter free (FFF beam). The FFF beams are associated with a significantly higher dose per pulse compared to WFF beams due to the absence of a flattening filter and the corresponding attenuation caused by it. This results in increased ion recombination and a larger saturation correction factor (k).

A series of novel sulfonamide and acetamide derivatives of pyrimidine were synthesized and their antimicrobial activities were assessed. Based on the Microbroth dilution method, the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the synthesized compounds demonstrated moderate to good levels of antifungal and antibacterial activity. Structure-activity relationship analysis suggested that the presence of electron-withdrawing groups, such as halogens, nitrile, and nitro groups, on the pyrimidine ring contributed to the enhanced antimicrobial potency, while electron-donating substituents led to a decrease in activity.

One of the exciting developments in contemporary luminescence research is the development of rare earth triggered luminescent glasses, which are a type of lanthanide activated luminous material. For the first time, Ce, Eu activated/co-activated MgCaNa(PO) orthophosphate glasses have been synthesized using the proposed work's melt quenching technique. The proposed glass sample's XRD pattern has an amorphous character, although its most prominent peak matches data from the MgCaNa(PO) standard ICSD database.

Aim: This study aimed to compare the efficacy of subgingivally applied probiotics as an adjunct to scaling and root planing (SRP) vs SRP alone in patients with periodontitis.

Materials And Methods: Patients diagnosed with periodontitis, with probing pocket depth (PPD) of 5-7 mm on at least two teeth on contralateral sites, were selected for the study and randomly allocated to the test group (n = 31) who underwent SRP along with subgingival application of probiotic paste and the control group (n = 31) who underwent only SRP. Clinical parameters were evaluated in both groups at baseline and after 12 weeks.
