Delusion of pregnancy is a relatively uncommon manifestation in psychotic patients. Differentiating it from closely related clinical entities like pseudocyesis/pseudopregnancy can be a challenge in clinical setting. Diagnosis of a psychotic illness with delusional pregnancy as the presenting feature in the absence of other florid symptoms of psychosis is a different challenge altogether.

Smoking blunts sertraline response in depression: A prospective observational cohort study.

Background: Smoking is common in patients of depression and is known to affect response to antidepressants. This study was undertaken to evaluate the effect of smoking on the antidepressant effect of sertraline.

Purpose: Central subfoveal thickness measurement is used in a large number of clinical trials to monitor the progression and treatment response of diabetic macular edema (DME) in patients of diabetic retinopathy (DR). Several studies have been carried out to investigate various factors affecting the central subfoveal thickness in order to minimize errors in the testing. We planned a study to investigate the effect of meals on central macular thickness (CMT) in patients with DME and compare that with nondiabetic patients.

Successful T replete haploidentical HSCT with post-transplant cyclophosphamide in two patients with Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome.

We describe two young patients with Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome (WAS) who were treated by T-replete hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) from the HLA haploidentical father according to a modified Baltimore protocol. Whereas similar protocols have been successfully used in various malignant and non-malignant diseases, this is the first report for this particular disease. The data being presented pertains to the report about two successful haploidentical transplants with post transplant cyclophosphamide (PTCY) after busulfan-based conditioning.

To study the pattern of hearing loss and its recovery in cases of temporal bone fractures. 95 cases of temporal bone fractures, selected from head injury cases, were examined in Trauma centre or Intensive care unit or in Otorhinolaryngology department in a tertiary care Army Hospital. Hearing loss was assessed by pure tone audiometry.

Longitudinal study of the course and outcome of first-episode psychosis.

Background: Study of first episode psychosis (FEP), an episode of psychotic nature, which manifests for the first time in an individual in the longitudinal continuum of his/her illness, has been a matter of research interest in recent years, as this may give more insight to the overall phenomenology and course of psychotic illnesses.

Methods: A study was undertaken to evaluate course and outcome of first episode psychosis. A total of 100 consecutive inpatients were selected for the study.

This article aims to propose a design for Eye Injury Registry (EIR) model for Indian Armed Forces, to make ophthalmologists and non-ophthalmologists aware about the existence as well as the usefulness of such a registry. This is a perspective study. The EIR model for Armed Forces was designed based on the relevant sources in PubMed, Scopus and Embase including registries of pioneering countries like United States and Canada.

Normal measurements of brainstem and related structures for all ages: An MRI-based morphometric study.

Background: Knowledge of the normal size of the brain stem and certain related structures play an important role in diagnosis of aging and neurodegenerative conditions affecting the brain. There is no well-established normative data for development and age-related changes pertaining to the brain stem and related structures in the Indian context. The objective of this study was to assess various linear and angle measurements of the brain stem, cerebral peduncles, middle cerebellar peduncles, and proximal cervical cord for all ages in patients who have undergone MRI brain for unrelated pathologies.
