Background: Alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonists (α1-ARAs) are frequently used in treatment of Hypertension and symptomatic benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH). Numerous studies have demonstrated the association between α1-ARAs like Tamsulosin and increased surgical risks for patients undergoing cataract surgery. This study aims to identify and study the effects of α1-ARAs on iris parameters and the subsequent operative challenges encountered during cataract surgery.

Gallbladder cancer (GBC) is one of the most common and aggressive malignancies of the Indo-Gangetic plains. Despite its widespread use in GBC cases, the role of 18-flurodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-computed tomography ( FDG PET-CT) in the management of this disease is not well defined. In our study, we present the practice trends of the utilization of this investigative modality in our hospital and its benefits in aiding diagnosis, staging, and surveillance for recurrence.

Introduction: Recent developments characterizing the pathophysiological basis of infection in the Coronavirus disease - 19 (COVID-19) have stirred great interest in studying this disease outside the purview of respiratory involvement and especially focusing on the gastrointestinal (GI) system. The present study involving a large cohort of COVID-19-infected patients reports on the characteristics of GI manifestations in patients infected with COVID-19 as well as the predictive role in their association with disease severity and adverse outcomes.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was carried out in a tertiary care hospital in northern India.

The current standard of care for surgical management of Otosclerosis is small fenestra stapedotomy, which can be done by CO Laser assisted as well as conventional techniques. Vertigo is the commonest complication after stapes surgery. The use of CO Laser has been rising recently owing to its no touch principle, high precision and possibly lower risk of vertigo post operatively.
