Social listening can provide deeper insight into public sentiment regarding policy proposals, as seen with the congestion pricing initiative in New York City (NYC). The purpose of this study was to assess the content of a sample of TikTok videos related to congestion pricing in NYC. A total of 100 unique videos were extracted from the hashtag #nyccongestionpricing on TikTok and coded for the presence of the following information based on four different areas of focus: video metrics, details about pricing plan, effects of pricing plan, and user-related issues.

Background The Healthy Aging Index (HAI) has been regarded as useful in capturing the health status of multiple organ systems. However, to what extent the HAI is associated with major cardiovascular events remains largely unknown. The authors constructed a modified HAI (mHAI) to quantify the association of physiological aging with major vascular events and explored how the effects of a healthy lifestyle can modify this association.

Unlabelled: After traumatic injury, healing of mammalian ligaments is typically associated with fibrotic scarring as opposed to scar-free regeneration. In contrast, here we show that the ligament supporting the jaw joint of adult zebrafish is capable of rapid and complete scar-free healing. Following surgical transection of the jaw joint ligament, we observe breakdown of ligament tissue adjacent to the cut sites, expansion of mesenchymal tissue within the wound site, and then remodeling of extracellular matrix (ECM) to a normal ligament morphology.

Background: Epigenetic dysregulation has been proposed as a key mechanism for arsenic-related cardiovascular disease (CVD). We evaluated differentially methylated positions (DMPs) as potential mediators on the association between arsenic and CVD.
Methods: Blood DNA methylation was measured in 2321 participants (mean age 56.

Genetic testing for BRCA1/2 mutations in early breast cancer has been shown to be beneficial, and an increase in surveillance using these genetic markers is recommended. Given this recommendation, it is likely that individuals gather information about such testing. Social media is increasingly becoming a common source of health information.

Background: Recent evidence shows that THV prostheses anchoring occurs at the raphe-level, known as LIRA plane, in raphe-type bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) disease. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the application of a novel supra-annular sizing method, known as Level of Implantation at the RAphe (LIRA) method, to optimize transcatheter heart valve (THV) prosthesis sizing in raphe-type BAV disease.
Methods And Results: The LIRA method was applied to all consecutive patients with raphe-type BAV disease between November 2018 to January 2020 in our centre.

Background: Given that individuals may make health decisions based on mass media coverage, and given that such decisions have broad consequences in the case of highly contagious infectious disease, it is imperative that public health practitioners are aware of mass media coverage on emerging health threats such as COVID-19. The purpose of this study was to examine the content of news segments covering COVID-19 posted on-line.
Methods: Using the Google Videos function on a cleared browser, all videos identified from January and February, 2020 were archived by URL for analysis.
Inclusive fitness requires a careful accounting of all the fitness effects of a particular behavior. Verbal arguments can potentially exaggerate the inclusive fitness consequences of a behavior by including the fitness of relatives that was not caused by that behavior, leading to error. We show how this "double-counting" error can arise, with a recent example from the signaling literature.

Background: Esthesioneuroblastoma (ENB), also known as olfactory neuroblastoma, is a rare malignant neoplasm of the olfactory mucosa. Despite surgical resection combined with radiotherapy and adjuvant chemotherapy, ENB often relapses with rapid progression. Current multimodality, nontargeted therapy for relapsed ENB is of limited clinical benefit.

Objectives: Sorafenib, an oral multikinase inhibitor of the VEGFR/PDGFR/Raf/MEK/ERK pathway, has shown potential activity in patients with recurrent ovarian cancer (OC). One strategy to prolong disease control and survival in patients with OC is maintenance therapy after achieving a complete response. A double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, phase II study to assess the efficacy and safety of maintenance therapy with sorafenib in the treatment of OC is presented.

We describe a novel transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) device that uses a circuit topology incorporating two energy-storage capacitors and two insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs) to generate near-rectangular electric field E-field) pulses with adjustable number, polarity, duration, and amplitude of the pulse phases. This controllable-pulse-parameter TMS (cTMS) device can induce E-field pulses with phase widths of 5-200 µs and positive/negative phase amplitude ratio of 1-10. Compared to conventional monophasic and biphasic TMS, cTMS reduces energy dissipation by 78-82% and 55-57% and decreases coil heating by 15-33% and 31-41%, respectively.

Background: The development of youth psychopathology may be associated with direct and continuous contact with a different culture (acculturation) and to distress related to this process (cultural stress). We examine cultural experiences of Puerto Rican families in relation to youth psychiatric symptoms in two different contexts: one in which migrant Puerto Ricans reside on the mainland as an ethnic minority and another in which they reside in their place of origin.
Sample: Probability samples of 10- to 13-year-old youth of Puerto Rican background living in the South Bronx, New York City (SB) and in the San Juan Metropolitan area in Puerto Rico (PR) (N = 1,271) were followed over time.

New methods are now available, and others are being developed, that could enable women to take the initiative in preventing sexually transmitted infections. However, attempts to capitalize on "female-controlled" preventive methods thus far have met with limited success. Female-initiated methods were introduced to intervene in the state of gender relations and assist women who are disempowered vis-à-vis their male partners.

Method: A within-subjects design was used in which resting baseline blood pressure and heart rate measurements were assessed on 60 subjects, who then took part in two anger-recall tasks.

The objective of this case-control study was to investigate the determinants of maternal stress in mothers of children with autism. Mothers of 31 children with autism from mental health clinics were matched by child age/gender and mother age to 31 mothers of children without mental health problems, drawn from public schools and a primary care unit. Logistic regression models showed that the presence of stress in mothers was primarily associated with having a child with autism.

The focus of this article is on the interface between research on resilience-a construct representing positive adaptation despite adversity--and the applications of this work to the development of interventions and social policies. Salient defining features of research on resilience are delineated, as are various advantages, limitations, and precautions linked with the application of the resilience framework to developing interventions. For future applied efforts within this tradition, a series of guiding principles are presented along with exemplars of existing programs based on the resilience paradigm.

Developing axons are guided to their targets by molecular cues in their local environment. Some cues are short-range, deriving from cells along axonal pathways. There is also increasing evidence for longer-range guidance cues, in the form of gradients of diffusible chemoattractant molecules, which originate from restricted populations of target cells.
