Objectives: This study reports on the time course of reimplantation and benefits of the wearable cardioverter-defibrillator (WCD) in patients post implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) explantation.

Background: The WCD is used to treat patients at high risk for ventricular tachycardia (VT) and ventricular fibrillation (VF), including patients with ICD-related infections who undergo device removal and cannot be immediately reimplanted.

Methods: This retrospective study included consecutive patients from 2002 to 2014 who underwent ICD removal because of device-related infection and were prescribed a WCD.

Summary Answer: A DE surgical sheet (DESS) was developed for standardized reporting of the surgical treatment of DE and an international expert consensus proposal on relevant items that should be recorded in surgical outcome trials in women with DE.

What Is Known Already: Surgery is an important treatment for symptomatic DE. So far, data have been reported in such a way that comparison of different surgical techniques is impossible.
