Article Synopsis
  • The budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae's life cycle traits, like stable haploid clones and controllable mating, make it valuable for lab research.
  • Research showed that natural isolates have diverse HO alleles, but limited diversity was found in North American oak isolates, indicating broad dispersal.
  • A hands-on educational activity enabled students to isolate and identify wild yeast, fostering collaboration among different educational levels and showing adaptability for other regions.

Willingness to take a servant's mindset and to give time and goods from a biblical perspective shows respect for those to be served.

Features of the natural life cycle of the budding yeast were crucial to its domestication as a laboratory experimental model, especially the ability to maintain stable haploid clones and cross them at will to combine alleles via meiosis. Stable haploidy results from mutations in , which encodes an endonuclease required for haploid-specific mating-type switching. Previous studies found an unexpected diversity of alleles among natural isolates within a small geographic area.

To demonstrate that a culturally and linguistically appropriate telehealth protocol can be implemented to improve the glycemic control of patients as an extension of regular clinical services and provide continuity of care. A telehealth platform was established during COVID-19 pandemic and from numerous telehealth encounters we sampled 498 patients who received telehealth intervention over a 12-month period for specific services: Rx refill, consultation for laboratory results, wellness evaluation and education, and acute or sick visits with appropriate referrals. This telehealth platform was integrated with a remote patient monitoring system utilizing a Bluetooth-enabled glucometer for patients with diabetes compared to their abnormal baseline hemoglobin A1C (HgA1C).

June 2022

Global Studies and Politics, Colorado Christian University, 8787 W. Alameda Ave., Lakewood, CO 80226 USA.

As China's global footprint expands and Sino-American competition intensifies, it is apparent that one of the most important arenas for competition between Western Liberal norms and Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) authoritarian norms is going to come in competing technologies (Western/Korean/Taiwanese 5G/chips vs Huawei 5G/chips) and competing cyber-norms (Western cyber-libertarianism vs Chinese cyber-sovereignty).
