Motivation: The exploration of the 3D organization of DNA within the nucleus in relation to various stages of cellular development has led to experiments generating spatiotemporal Hi-C data. However, there is limited spatiotemporal Hi-C data for many organisms, impeding the study of 3D genome dynamics. To overcome this limitation and advance our understanding of genome organization, it is crucial to develop methods for forecasting Hi-C data at future time points from existing time-series Hi-C data.

Climate change poses an unprecedented threat to human health and well-being in the United States. In this article, part of the National Academy of Medicine's Vital Directions for Health and Health Care: Priorities for 2025 initiative, we outline key strategies to address climate change, health, and equity, using a public health approach. We focus on three critical areas: transitioning to clean energy sources, upgrading health infrastructure, and scaling public health and health care resilience.

Integrative Oncology: Incorporating Evidence-Based Approaches for Patients With GI Cancers.

Data have matured to support incorporation of integrative oncology modalities into comprehensive cancer care. Clinical practice guidelines have recently been published by ASCO for diet and exercise (2022) and use of cannabinoids and cannabis (2024) and jointly by ASCO and the Society for Integrative Oncology (SIO) for application of integrative approaches in the management of pain (2022), anxiety and depression (2023), and fatigue (2024) among adults with cancer. Following the ASCO-SIO guidelines, clinicians should recommend mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) to patients with symptoms of anxiety or depression and MBIs and exercise for management of fatigue during or after completion of cancer treatment.

Combined Pars Plana Vitrectomy and Novel Scleral Fixation of the Light Adjustable Lens.

Purpose: The light adjustable lens (LAL) (RxSight, Aliso Viejo, CA) is a premium intraocular lens that allows for correction of residual refractive error and astigmatism following implantation. Herein, we describe the surgical approach and evaluate the visual outcomes of patients following scleral fixation of the LAL.

Methods: Retrospective, single-surgeon surgical case series of 3 patients (3 eyes) with intraocular lens complications, who underwent combined pars plana vitrectomy and sutureless needle assisted intrascleral haptic fixation of the LAL between April 2022, to August 2023.

Objective: 3p deletion syndrome is a rare monosomal disease that encompasses deletions throughout the short arm of chromosome 3. It is often in the distal region (3p25-pter), but variations in breakpoints and a complex clinical manifestation exist, with congenital heart defects being considered rare. Background And Objective: Poor executive functioning (EF) has been consistently linked to depression, but questions remain regarding mechanisms driving this association. The current study tested whether poor EF is linked to depression symptoms six weeks later via dependent stressors (model 1) and stressors perceived to be uncontrollable (model 2) at week two (W2) and repetitive negative thinking (RNT) at W4 during early COVID-19 in college students.

Design: This was a longitudinal study with four timepoints spanning six weeks (April-June 2020).
