Green-synthesized CoOnps were prepared and analyzed using UV-Vis spectrophotometer UV-vis, Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Transmission electron microscopy TEM, Energy dispersive X-ray analysis EDAX, Fourier transform infrared, FTIR, and X-ray diffraction (XRD).

Xanthohumol(Xn) is isolated from female inflorescences of Humulus lupulus. It has been discovered that Xn and its formulation are useful in the treatment of cancer. As this bioactive compound has medicinal importance, hence, a novel, precise, and sensitive HPLC method should be developed.

Benzalkonium chloride (BKC), a quaternary ammonium compound commonly used as a disinfectant and preservative, is a notable example because it is frequently used in household products and medical settings. Despite its broad usage, limited research has been conducted on the respiratory and systemic toxicities of BKC.

Effectiveness of pharmacist-managed oncology ambulatory care for patients with non-small cell lung cancer in Taiwan.

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is commonly treated with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). However, adverse events from such treatment can lead to treatment discontinuation and additional medical expenditures. Ambulatory care from oncology pharmacists in patient education and symptom management can benefit patients with NSCLC.

Cost-effectiveness analysis of pembrolizumab with chemotherapy for metastatic nonsquamous non-small cell lung cancer in Taiwan.

This study was aimed to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of pembrolizumab with chemotherapy (pembrolizumab combination therapy) and compare it with standard-of-care platinum-based chemotherapy (chemotherapy alone) as a first-line treatment for metastatic nonsquamous NSCLC from the perspective of Taiwan's third-party-payer public health-care system. We used a partitioned survival model with an estimated time horizon of 10 years. The partitioned survival model uses Kaplan-Meier estimates of progression-free and overall survival from the KEYNOTE-189 clinical trial.

Alanine supplementation enhancing cordycepin production in Cordyceps militaris via upregulation of Cns2 and Cns3 genes expression levels.

Cordycepin, a key bioactive compound produced by Cordyceps militaris, faces the challenge of low productivity for commercial use. In this study, alanine supplementation in Cordyceps militaris boosted cordycepin production, peaking at 3 mg/g with 12 g/L concentration. Transcriptome analysis revealed 1711 differentially expressed genes, Pathway analysis indicates that protein processing in the endoplasmic reticulum was the most affected pathway.

Discovery of novel dual-target inhibitors of LSD1/EGFR for non-small cell lung cancer therapy.

Histone lysine-specific demethylase 1 (LSD1) is overexpressed in various solid and hematological tumors, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic target, but there are currently no LSD1 inhibitors available on the market. In this study we employed a computer-guided approach to identify novel LSD1/EGFR dual inhibitors as a potential therapeutic agent for non-small cell lung cancer. Through a multi-stage virtual screening approach, we found L-1 and L-6, two compounds with unique scaffolds that effectively inhibit LSD1 with IC values of 6.

Response Surface D-Optimal Design for Optimizing Fortimicins Production by Micromonospora olivasterospora and New Synergistic Fortimicin-A-Antibiotic Combinations.

Fortimicins (FTMs) are fortamine-containing aminoglycoside antibiotics (AGAs) produced by M. olivasterospora DSM 43868 with excellent bactericidal activities against a wide range of Enterobacteriaceae and synergistic activity against multidrug-resistant (MDR) pathogens. Fortimicin-A (FTM-A), the most active member of FTMs, has the lowest susceptibility to inactivation by the aminoglycoside modifying enzymes (AMEs).

A large number of by-products generated in the food industry is discarded as waste, especially the residue left after extracting plant resources, which is typically repurposed as fertilizer. In this study, we extracted and purified a new protein, DOP1, from the residue of Dendrobium officinale Kimura & Migo (D. officinale), and explored the protective effect of DOP1 on alcohol-induced gastric mucosal injury.

Identification of acetylcholinesterase inhibitors and stability analysis of THC@HP-β-CD inclusion complex: A comprehensive computational study.

Complexing medications with cyclodextrins can enhance their solubility and stability. In this study, we investigated the host-guest complexation between Tetrahydrocurcumin (THC) and Hydroxypropyl-β-Cyclodextrin (HP-β-CD) using density functional theory (DFT) at the B3LYP-D3/TPZ level of theory in two possible orientations. To determine the reactive sites in both complexes for electrophilic and nucleophilic attacks, we calculated and interpreted the binding energy, HOMO and LUMO orbitals, global chemical reactivity descriptors, natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis, and Fukui indices.

Herbal nanoemulsions in cosmetic science: A comprehensive review of design, preparation, formulation, and characterization.

The rapid development of delivery systems for cosmetics has revealed two critical challenges in the field: enhancing the solubility of active ingredients and ensuring the stability of natural materials used in cosmetics. Nanoemulsion technology has emerged as an indispensable solution for addressing these challenges, not only enhancing the stability of cosmetics but also improving the solubility of pharmaceuticals and active ingredients with poor solubility. Nanoemulsion formulations have reinforced stability and amended the bioavailability of hydrophobic drugs.

Cytokine storm is a life-threatening systemic hyper-inflammatory state caused by different etiologies, in which the bulk production of pro-inflammatory cytokines from activated macrophages has a central role. Integrated stress response (ISR) comprises several protective signaling pathways, leading to phosphorylation of eukaryotic initiation factor 2α (eIF2α) and repression of protein translation. Emerging evidence suggests that ISR induction may elicit anti-inflammatory effects.

Background: Tavaborole (TAV), a benzoxaborole derivative, is an FDA-approved antifungal agent for treating onychomycosis, a common and persistent fungal infection of the toenails.

Objective: This study aimed to develop a robust stability-indicating HPTLC method to determine TAV in nanostructured lipid carriers (NLC) using a comprehensive approach that includes risk assessment, and Analytical Quality by Design.

Methods: The critical method parameters influencing the HPTLC results were screened using a Placket-Burman screening design followed by its optimization using a central composite optimization design.
