Dairy production is practiced almost all over Ethiopia. Milk and milk products play an important role in human nutrition throughout the country but the quality of milk produced in Ethiopia is poor and below the standard due to poor pre-milking and postharvest handling practices. Cancer remains one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide, characterized by uncontrolled cell growth and the ability of tumors to invade surrounding tissues and spread to distant organs. Despite significant advancements in early detection, diagnosis, and treatment, many cancers still present substantial challenges due to their heterogeneity, resistance to conventional therapies, and severe side effects of existing treatments. Consequently, there is an ongoing need for novel therapeutic agents to selectively target cancer cells, enhance the efficacy of current treatments, and minimize adverse effects.

This study aimed to identify the botanical origins of honey through pollen analysis across agro-ecologies of Kelala district, South Wollo, Ethiopia. Fifteen honey samples were collected from traditional beehives, with 5 samples from each of the highland, midland, and lowland agro-ecologies. Qualitative and quantitative pollen analyses revealed that 22 honeybee plants belonging to 8 families, with no families of poisonous origin, and 3 growth forms were identified.

Colostrum management is crucial for enhancing the immune response against enteropathogens and the survival of dairy calves during the first few weeks of life. However, few physiological studies have investigated the dynamics of general and specific immunoglobulin G (IgG) content in cow milk during early lactation stages, particularly in that of crossbred Gir × Holstein dairy cows, the most predominant dairy cattle population in tropical countries, such as Brazil. Adequate neutral detergent insoluble fiber (NDF) content in the total diet can improve intake efficiency, prevent rumen disorders, and enhance the health and performance of feedlot-finished beef cattle. We hypothesized that an increase in dietary fiber levels would decrease the productive performance but increase the economic performance of young bulls in confinement. The objective of this exploratory study was to assess the changes on lipidome and metabolome profiling of Longissimus lumborum bull muscle with different ultimate pH (pHu) and aging periods. The bull muscles classified as normal, intermediate, or high pHu were collected from a Brazilian commercial slaughterhouse, cut into steaks, individually vacuum-packaged, and aged for 3 days (3-d) or 21 days (21-d) at 2 °C. Muscle extracts were analyzed for the profiles of both lipids, by mass spectrometry (via direct flow-injection), and metabolites, by nuclear magnetic resonance, with downstream multivariate data analysis.

One of the factors responsible for less pregnancy rates is the use of frozen semen in sheep due to the oxidative stress created by the process. The aim of this experiment was to test the effects of adding coenzyme Q-10 (CoQ10) to the seminal extender on sperm quality and the pregnancy rate of sheep.
