Purpose: Acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid (AKBA) has therapeutic effects on a range of diseases, including tumours. lncRNAs, as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs), can interact with miRNAs to regulate the expression of target genes, which can affect the development of tumors. Here, we examined the effects of AKBA on breast precancerous lesions MCF-10AT cells.

Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is a biliary malignancy which is prone to lymphatic metastasis and has a high mortality rate. This disease lacks effective therapeutic targets and prognostic molecular biomarkers. The aim of the current study was to investigate differentially expressed genes and elucidate their association with CCA and the underlying mechanisms of action.

Objectives: Cystathionine β-synthase is a major enzyme in the metabolism of plasma homocysteine. Hyperhomocysteinemia is positively associated with hypertension and stroke. The present study was performed to examine the possible effects of Cystathionine β-synthase promoter methylation on the development of hypertension and stroke.

Ruyan Neixiao Cream (RYNXC), a patented Chinese herbal formula, was reported to have the effect of treating mammary precancerous disease. In this study, we predicted the potential targets, pathways, and diseases of the ingredients contained in each herbal of RYNXC and constructed an ingredients-targets-diseases network. Then, we analyzed molecular mechanisms of this Chinese herbal formula by MCF-10AT cells and model rats of breast precancerous lesions.

Objective: Hypertension and hyperhomocysteinemia are both stroke risk factors. plays a vital role in one-carbon metabolism via encoding a protein with three distinct enzymatic activities (methylenetetrahydrofolate dehydrogenase, methenyltetrahydrofolate cyclohydrolase, and formate-tetrahydrofolate ligase). We aimed to elucidate the association between promoter methylation and stroke in a Chinese population with primary hypertension.

Objective: To observe the effect of acupuncture on activities of microglia in traumatic brain injury (TBI) rats.
Methods: Fifty-four male SD rats were randomly and equally divided into normal control, model and acupuncture groups according to the random number table (=18 rats in each group). The TBI model was established by using a free fall brain injury striking device after exposing the local cranial bone (to induce the left parietal cerebral contusion).

Aims: Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is a common problem worldwide. Mainstream surgical procedures include tension-free vaginal tape (TVT), transobturator tape (TOT), tension-free vaginal tape-obturator (TVT-O), tension-free vaginal tape SECUR (TVT-S), and adjustable single-incision sling (Ajust). The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy and safety of these surgical procedures and assess which surgery is most optimal for SUI by adopting a network meta-analysis (NMA).

Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a particular subtype of breast malignant tumor with poorer prognosis than other molecular subtypes. Currently, there is increasing focus on long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), which can act as competing endogenous RNAs (ceR-NAs) and suppress miRNA functions involved in post-transcriptional regulatory networks in the tumor. Therefore, to investigate specific mechanisms of TNBC carcinogenesis and improve treatment efficiency, we comprehensively integrated expression profiles, including data on mRNAs, lncRNAs and miRNAs obtained from 116 TNBC tissues and 11 normal tissues from The Cancer Genome Atlas.

Papillary renal cell carcinoma (PRCC) is the second most common subtype of renal cell carcinoma, and it lacks effective therapeutic targets and prognostic molecular biomarkers. Attention has been increasingly focused on long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs), which can act as competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) to compete for shared microRNAs (miRNAs) in the tumorigenesis of human tumors. Therefore, to clarify the functional roles of lncRNAs with respect to the mediated ceRNA network in PRCC, we comprehensively integrated expression profiles, including data on mRNAs, lncRNAs and miRNAs obtained from 289 PRCC tissues and 32 normal tissues in The Cancer Genome Atlas.
