Objective: To assess (ARE) neuroprotective function in 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP)-treated mice and related genes.
Methods: Examined mRNA-DNA methylation changes induced by ARE in MPTP-induced Parkinson's disease (PD) model's substantia nigra.
Results: ARE mitigated MPTP-induced motor impairment in rotarod and open field tests and preserved tyrosine hydroxylase-positive neuronal cells in substantia nigra and striatum.

Tea is a rich source of phytochemicals; their composition in tea extracts varies depending on the cultivar, climate, production region, and processing and handling processes. The method of extraction plays a crucial role in determining the biological effects of the bioactive compounds in tea leaves. However, reports on the catechin profiles and antioxidant activities of the extracts obtained from leaves at different stages of maturity are limited.

(1) Background: IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) is characterized by chronic intestinal inflammation leading to persistent symptoms and a lack of effective treatments. ZP () has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties for the management of intestinal disorders. (2) Methods: This study aimed to investigate the components of ZP, their specific targets, and associated diseases using the TCMSP (Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology) analysis platform, TCMBank database, and ETCM2.

WHO reported that asthma was responsible for 455,000 deaths in 2019 and asthma patients was evaluated 262 million in May 2023. The incidence is expected to increase as the average life expectancy increases, highlighting asthma as a significant health challenge in an aging society. The etiology of asthma is linked to an imbalance of Th1 and Th2 cells, respiratory inflammation, and pulmonary cell proliferation.

Heart failure, a major public health issue, often stems from prolonged stress or damage to the heart muscle, leading to cardiac hypertrophy. This can progress to heart failure and other cardiovascular problems. Doxorubicin (DOX), a common chemotherapy drug, and isoproterenol (ISO), a β-adrenergic agonist, both induce cardiac hypertrophy through different mechanisms.

The term "acupuncture" commonly refers to a non-pharmacologic therapy that is increasingly employed by diverse segments of the population for a wide variety of complaints including pain, insomnia, anxiety, depression, frozen shoulder, and other issues. The term is also used as a short-hand for the wider medical system from which the placement of needles into the skin for therapeutic benefit and related techniques evolved. Thus "acupuncture" refers both to the therapeutic technique and the therapeutic system of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (AHM).

Herein, we reported novel docetaxel-decorated solid lipid nanoparticle (DCT-SLN)-loaded dual thermoreversible system (DCT-DRTS) for intramuscular administration with reduced burst effect, sustained release and improved antitumor efficacy. The optimized DCT-DRTs was subjected to in-vitro and in-vivo analyses. Antitumor evaluation of the DCT-DRTS was executed and compared with DCT-hydrogel, and DCT-suspension trailed by the histopathological and immune-histochemical analyses.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the protective effects of 7S,15R-dihydroxy-16S,17S-epoxy-docosapentaenoic acid (diHEP-DPA) in retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cell damage. ARPE-19 cells, a human RPE cell line, were cultured with diHEP-DPA and Bis-retinoid N-retinyl-N-retinylidene ethanolamine (A2E), followed by exposure to BL. Cell viability and cell death rates were determined.

Redundancy of cancer cells towards ROS-mediated apoptosis despite expressing proline-rich p66shc abundantly needs to be investigated properly. P66shc, an adapter protein, is indispensable both for initiating ROS-mediated apoptosis and subsequent ROS generation through Rac-1 activation. P66shc gets phosphorylated at Ser-36 that triggers its translocation to the mitochondria and subsequent release of Cytochrome c in response to oxidative stress.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), the most highly prescribed drugs in the world for the treatment of pain, inflammation, and fever, cause gastric mucosal damage, including ulcers, directly or indirectly, by which the development of GI-safer (-sparing) NSAIDs relates to unmet medical needs. This study aimed to document the preventive effects of walnut polyphenol extracts (WPEs) against NSAID-induced gastric damage along with the molecular mechanisms. RGM-1 gastric mucosal cells were administered with indomethacin, and the expressions of the inflammatory mediators between indomethacin alone or a combination with WPEs were compared.

Specific sensitivity of the skin to ultraviolet B (UVB) rays is one of the mechanisms responsible for widespread skin damage. This study tested whether 1,3,5-trihydroxybenzene (THB), a compound abundant in marine products, might inhibit UVB radiation-induced NADPH oxidase 4 (NOX4) in both human HaCaT keratinocytes and mouse dorsal skin and explore its cytoprotective mechanism. The mechanism of action was determined using western blotting, immunocytochemistry, NADP/NADPH assay, reactive oxygen species (ROS) detection, and cell viability assay.

Background: Cerebral organoids (COs) are the most advanced in vitro models that resemble the human brain. The use of COs as a model for Alzheimer's disease (AD), as well as other brain diseases, has recently gained attention. This study aimed to develop a human AD CO model using normal human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) that recapitulates the pathological phenotypes of AD and to determine the usefulness of this model for drug screening.
