Cancer and related disorders are the most common cause of cancer-related mortality with the incidence of 1 in 9 among the pre-menopausal Pakistani females. among the most common ailments worldwide, indicating the importance of developing particular techniques that could help attenuate the effects of breast cancer and related outcomes. The primary aim of the current study was to review the role of inflammatory and stress markers in the development and progression of breast cancer.

Non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) is a prevalent and aggressive form of lung cancer, with a poor prognosis for metastatic disease. Immunotherapy, particularly immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), has revolutionized the management of NSCLC, but response rates are highly variable. Identifying reliable predictive biomarkers is crucial to optimize patient selection and treatment outcomes.

Health care is at a turning point. We are shifting from protocolized medicine to precision medicine, and digital health systems are facilitating this shift. By providing clinicians with detailed information for each patient and analytic support for decision-making at the point of care, digital health technologies are enabling a new era of precision medicine.

Tools screening depression and anxiety developed using the Western biomedical paradigm are still used with First Nations Peoples globally, despite calls for cross-cultural adaption. Recent work by this research team found that tools used to screen for depression and anxiety were inappropriate for use with Australian First Nations Peoples living in the Torres Strait and Northern Peninsula Area of Australia. The objective of this Delphi study, the second phase of a broader four-phase project, was to gain consensus from an expert mental health and/or social and emotional wellbeing (SEWB) panel to inform the development of an appropriate screening tool.

Background And Aim: Luminal strictures, common in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), especially Crohn's disease (CD), are typically treated with endoscopic balloon dilatation (EBD). The newer endoscopic stricturotomy (ESt) approach shows promise, but data is limited. This systematic review and meta-analysis assess the effectiveness and safety of ESt in IBD-related strictures.

Clinical Problem: Most abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) are small with low rupture risk (<1%/y) when diagnosed but slowly expand to ≥55 mm and undergo surgical repair. Patients and clinicians require medications to limit AAA growth and rupture, but drugs effective in animal models have not translated to patients.
Recommendations For Increasing Translation From Mouse Models: Use models that simulate human AAA tissue pathology, growth patterns, and rupture; focus on the clinically relevant outcomes of growth and rupture; design studies with the rigor required of human clinical trials; monitor AAA growth using reproducible ultrasound; and perform studies in both males and females.

Aims/hypothesis: Use of genetic risk scores (GRS) may help to distinguish between type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes, but less is known about whether GRS are associated with disease severity or progression after diagnosis. Therefore, we tested whether GRS are associated with residual beta cell function and glycaemic control in individuals with type 1 diabetes.
Methods: Immunochip arrays and TOPMed were used to genotype a cross-sectional cohort (n=479, age 41.
We report the case of a 23-year-old male presenting with right testicular swelling, post-coital pain, and fever. Initial MRI and local examination suggested testicular carcinoma. Elevated serum alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels were observed.

Background: Ocrelizumab, a humanised anti-CD20 monoclonal, is a highly effective treatment for relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS). The long-term safety of B-cell depletion in RRMS, however, is uncertain and there are no data on dose reduction of ocrelizumab as a risk mitigation strategy. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of reducing ocrelizumab dose from 600 to 300 mg in patients with RRMS.

New evidence indicates potential benefit of genomics to illuminate nonkidney monogenic morbidity and mortality risk among kidney transplant recipients. This might be of direct relevance to an equivalent proportion of patients to those who harbor a monogenic kidney disease. Further evidence and replication are indicated, including a broadening potential range of monogenic and polygenic opportunities to improve clinical outcomes.

This retrospective analysis of an ongoing prospective cohort study aimed to assess the outcome of revascularisation for treating lifestyle-limiting intermittent claudication caused by peripheral artery disease (PAD) in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and non-Indigenous North Queenslanders. Consenting patients with PAD who underwent endovascular or open revascularisation procedures for treating lifestyle-limiting intermittent claudication were included. The primary outcome measure was major adverse limb events (MALEs), defined as major amputation or the requirement for repeat open or endovascular revascularisation.

Introduction: Kidney stones is common with an increasing trend over time and has been well studied in the general population. However, incidence and outcomes of kidney stones leading to kidney failure (KF) and receiving kidney replacement therapy (KRT) is poorly examined. We examined the incidence of KF due to kidney stones and compared outcomes to KRT patients due to other causes.

Background: The global spread of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing and carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE) poses a significant concern. Acquisition of antimicrobial resistance genes leads to resistance against several antibiotics, limiting treatment options. We aimed to study ESBL-producing and CRE transmission in clinical settings.

The increasing burden of haemodialysis on healthcare systems merits efforts to make peritoneal dialysis (PD) more accessible to the population in need of kidney replacement therapy. Automated PD (APD) may be a suitable alternative to continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis for home dialysis especially for children, elderly and patients who lead a busy schedule in their jobs thus leaving more time for personal and family activities during the day. Recently, a local bioengineering company took the initiative to develop a locally manufactured, low-cost APD cycler in Pakistan, with an aim to improve the self-dependency and home-based kidney replacement therapy.

Aims: Adenosine, lidocaine, and Mg (ALM) therapy exerts differential immuno-inflammatory responses in males and females early after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction (ACLR). Our aim was to investigate sex-specific effects of ALM therapy on joint tissue repair and recovery 28 days after surgery.
Methods: Male (n = 21) and female (n = 21) adult Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into ALM or Saline control treatment groups.

Objectives: This cross-sectional study evaluated the prevalence of apical periodontitis (AP) and the technical quality of root canal fillings in an adult Kuwaiti subpopulation using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images.
Materials And Methods: Two experienced examiners analyzed 250 CBCT images obtained from Kuwaiti patients aged 15-65 years who attended government dental specialist clinics between January 2019 and September 2020. The assessment followed the radiographic scoring criteria proposed by De Moor for periapical status and the technical quality of root canal filling.
