Previous research has indicated that ultrafine particles (UFPs, particles less than 100 nm) emitted from desktop three-dimensional (3D) printers exhibit cytotoxicity. Introduction: A 56-hole porous tip radiofrequency catheter was developed to provide more uniform cooling with less fluid delivery than a prior 6-hole irrigated design. Spinster 2 (Spns2) is a transporter that pumps sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P), a bioactive lipid mediator synthesized in the cytoplasm, out of cells into the inter cellular space. Chronic pelvic pain conditions such as interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) remain clinical and mechanistic enigmas. Microglia are resident immune cells of the central nervous system (CNS) that respond to changes in the gut microbiome, and studies have linked microglial activation to acute and chronic pain in a variety of models, including pelvic pain. We have previously reported that mice deficient for the lipase acyloxyacyl hydrolase (AOAH) develop pelvic allodynia and exhibit symptoms, comorbidities, and gut dysbiosis mimicking IC/BPS.

Environmental toxicants such as dioxins and polycyclic aromatic carbons are risk factors for pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer. These toxicants activate aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR), a ligand-activated transcription factor, of which activation regulates many downstream biological events, including xenobiotic metabolism, inflammation, and cancer cell growth and transformation. Here, we identified that environmental toxicant-activated AHR increased expression of metastasis associated lung adenocarcinoma transcript 1 (MALAT1) in pancreatic cancer cells and pancreatic tissues.

We report results from a phase 2, randomized, double-blind, 2-period trial (48 weeks each) of domagrozumab and its open-label extension in patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). Of 120 ambulatory boys (aged 6 to <16 years) with DMD, 80 were treated with multiple ascending doses (5, 20, and 40 mg/kg) of domagrozumab and 40 treated with placebo. The primary endpoints were safety and mean change in 4-stair climb (4SC) time at week 49.
