Extracellular vesicles (EVs) secreted by human brain cells have great potential as cell-free therapies in various diseases, including stroke. However, because of the significant amount of EVs needed in preclinical and clinical trials, EV application is still challenging. Vertical-Wheel Bioreactors (VWBRs) have designed features that allow for scaling up the generation of human forebrain spheroid EVs under low shear stress.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) secreted by human-induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) have great potential as cell-free therapies in various diseases, including prevention of blood-brain barrier senescence and stroke. However, there are still challenges in pre-clinical and clinical use of hiPSC-EVs due to the need for large-scale production of a large quantity. Vertical-Wheel bioreactors (VWBRs) have design features that allow the biomanufacturing of hiPSC-EVs using a scalable aggregate or microcarrier-based culture system under low shear stress.

Background And Aims: We focused on determining the risk factors, thromboembolic events, and clinical course of New-Onset Atrial Fibrillation (NOAF) among hospitalized coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients.
Methods: This retrospective study was conducted in the major referral centers in Tehran, Iran. Of 1764 patients enrolled in the study from January 2020 until July 2021, 147 had NOAF, and 1617 had normal sinus rhythm.
Objective: This study used a preferences and constraints framework to understand mothers' decision-making processes around childcare and schooling during the COVID-19 pandemic and how socioeconomic context contribute to these decisions.
Background: Despite potential long-standing consequences of school decision making during the COVID-19 pandemic, we know little about how parents consider childcare and education options during these times. And, these decisions are particularly important for single mothers in resource-scarce environments whose children benefit disproportionately from appropriate care and education.
This study was performed to analyze the accuracy of health-related information on Twitter during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Authors queried Twitter on three dates for information regarding COVID-19 and five terms (cure, emergency or emergency room, prevent or prevention, treat or treatments, vitamins or supplements) assessing the first 25 results with health-related information. Tweets were authoritative if written by governments, hospitals, or physicians.

Background: Rapid identification of patients with occult injury and illness in the emergency department can be difficult. Transcutaneous carbon dioxide (TCO) and oxygen (TO) measurements may be non-invasive surrogate markers for the identification of such patients.
Objectives: To determine if TCO or TO are useful adjuncts for identifying severe illness and the correlation between TCO, lactate, and end tidal carbon dioxide (ETCO).
The obesity crisis is one of the largest public health challenges of the 21st century. Population-level adiposity has increased dramatically in recent times, and people not recognizing that they have overweight or obesity is now common. It has been widely assumed that not recognizing oneself as having overweight is detrimental to weight management and long-term health.

Objective: Weight discrimination is associated with numerous negative health consequences. Little is known about early-stage psychological mechanisms that explain variability in responses to weight discrimination among people with obesity. This study tested the hypothesis that attributing negative social evaluation to one's weight would be associated with stigma-related stress responses (eg, reduced cognitive functioning and self-esteem, increased negative affect and cortisol), especially among people who had experienced frequent weight discrimination in the past.
