Improving outcomes of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in primary care with Chronic Care Model: A narrative review.

Designed and implemented over two decades ago, the Chronic Care Model is a well-established chronic disease management framework that has steered several healthcare systems in successfully improving the clinical outcomes of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Research evidence cements the role of the Chronic Care Model (with its six key elements of organization of healthcare delivery system, self-management support, decision support, delivery system design, clinical information systems, and community resources and policies) as an integrated framework to revamp the type 2 diabetes mellitus-related clinical practice and care that betters the patient care and clinical outcomes. The current review is an evidence-lit summary of importance of use of Chronic Care Model in primary care and their impact on clinical outcomes for patients afflicted with one of the most debilitating metabolic diseases, type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Cystic epitholiod angiomyolipoma mimicking a cystic renal cell carcinoma: A case report.

Here we report a case of epitholiod angiomyolipoma with cystic changes in a 42-year-old woman. Preoperative imaging studies revealed a 9.8 cm cystic tumor arising from the lower pole of the right kidney, with multiple enhancing solid components and septation diagnosed as a cystic renal cell carcinoma.

Background: Studying time-related changes in susceptible pathogens causing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) is vital in improving local antimicrobial and infection control practices.

Objectives: Describe susceptibility patterns to several antimicrobials in gram-positive and gram-negative pathogens isolated from patients causing HAIs at three private tertiary care hospitals in Saudi Arabia over a 5-year period.

Methods: Data on trends of antimicrobial susceptibility among bacteria causing HAIs events in children and adults at three tertiary private hospitals located in Riyadh and Qassim, Saudi Arabia, were collected retrospectively between 2015 and 2019 using the surveillance data datasets.

Every student has a preference for a certain sensory mode to receive and process all acquired information. Norm enforcement may be important for resolving conflicts and promoting cooperation. However, little is known about how preferred responses to norm violations vary across cultures and across domains. In a preregistered study of 57 countries (using convenience samples of 22,863 students and non-students), we measured perceptions of the appropriateness of various responses to a violation of a cooperative norm and to atypical social behaviors.

Herein, yellow emissive nitrogen doped graphene quantum dots (N@GQDs) were prepared by a novel advanced thermal driven oxidation. The N@GQDs was functionalized with β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) to improve its catalytic performance towards dopamine (DA) detection. The β-CD/N@GQDs exhibited strong fluorescence at λ = 550 nm after excitation at 460 nm with a quantum yield of 38.
