The objective of this study was to evaluate the prognostic value of clinical characteristics in elderly patients with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). The cohort was selected from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) program dating from 2010 to 2015. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed using a Cox proportional risk regression model, and a nomogram was constructed to predict the 1-, 3-, and 5-year prognoses of elderly patients with TNBC.

Super-resolution (SR) MR image reconstruction has shown to be a very promising direction to improve the spatial resolution of low-resolution (LR) MR images. In this paper, we presented a novel MR image SR method based on a dense convolutional neural network (DDSR), and its enhanced version called EDDSR. There are three major innovations: first, we re-designed dense modules to extract hierarchical features directly from LR images and propagate the extracted feature maps through dense connections.

Background: Although middle-aged and elderly users are the main group targeted by health maintenance-oriented WeChat official accounts (HM-WOAs), few studies have explored the relationship of these accounts and their users. Exploring the factors that influence the continuous adoption of WOAs is helpful to strengthen the health education of middle-aged and elderly individuals.

Objective: We developed a new theoretical model and explored the factors that influence middle-aged and elderly individuals' continuous usage intention for HM-WOA.

Aiming at the security issues in the storage and transmission of medical images in the medical information system, combined with the special requirements of medical images for the protection of lesion areas, this paper proposes a robust zero-watermarking algorithm for medical images' security based on VGG19. First, the pretrained VGG19 is used to extract deep feature maps of medical images, which are fused into the feature image. Second, the feature image is transformed by Fourier transform, and low-frequency coefficients of the Fourier transform are selected to construct the feature matrix of the medical image.

Department of Epidemiology, School of Public Health and Management, Chongqing Medical University, Chongqing, China. Electronic address:

Background And Aims: Chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 10 (CXCL10) has been recently shown to be associated with inflammatory diseases. However, the association between the genetic variation of this gene and the susceptibility to hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection remains unclear, especially in children. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between CXCL10 polymorphisms and the risk of chronic HBV infection in a Chinese Han population.

State Key Laboratory of Ultrasound in Medicine and Engineering, College of Biomedical Engineering, Chongqing Medical University, Chongqing, China.

To evaluate factors in predicting the treatment outcome of ultrasound-guided high-intensity focused ultrasound (USgHIFU) ablation for uterine fibroids with a non-perfused volume ratio (NPVR) of at least 80%. One thousand patients with uterine fibroids who received USgHIFU were enrolled. Thirty-two independent variables of four dimensions of data set, including general information of patients, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests, and fibroid imaging characteristics, were used to investigate the potential predictors of the NPVR of at least 80% by multivariate logistic regression.

Patients with acute decompensated (AD) cirrhosis are frequently readmitted to the hospital. An accurate predictive model for identifying high-risk patients may facilitate the development of effective interventions to reduce readmission rates. This cohort study of patients with AD cirrhosis was conducted at six tertiary hospitals in China between September 2012 and December 2016 (with 705 patients in the derivation cohort) and between January 2017 and April 2020 (with 251 patients in the temporal validation cohort).

July 2021

Key Laboratory of Diagnostic Medicine Designated by the Chinese Ministry of Education, Department of Laboratory Medicine, Chongqing Medical University, Chongqing, 400016, China. Electronic address:

This study aimed to compare the gene expression variation of clinical primary osteosarcoma (OS) and metastatic OS, identify expression profiles and signal pathways related to disease classification, and systematically evaluate the potential anticancer effect and molecular mechanism of ginsenoside Rh2 on OS. A raw dataset (GSE14359), which excluded GSM359137 and GSM359138, was downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and principal component analysis (PCA) were obtained with limma.

Insufficient vascularization of grafts often leads to delayed tissue ingrowth and impaired tissue function in tissue engineering. The surface topography of grafts plays critical roles in angiogenesis. In the present study, we prepared silk fibroin (SF)-based microtopography films with the number of convex dots ranging from 37 to 4835/mm.

Pullulan hydrogels are widely used in tissue engineering and drug delivery. However, these hydrogels do not meet the requirements of articular cartilage repair because of their fast degradation rate and poor mechanical strength. Herein, we fabricated a hybrid hydrogel system by combining pullulan with synthetic polymers polyethylene (glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA).
