Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) commonly precedes the initial onset of mania in youth with familial risk for bipolar disorder (BD). Although ADHD youth with and without BD familial risk exhibit different clinical features, associated neuropathophysiological mechanisms remain poorly understood. This study aimed to identify brain functional network abnormalities associated with ADHD in youth with and without familial risk for BD.

Background: Having a first-degree relative with bipolar I disorder (BD) in conjunction with prodromal attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) may represent a unique phenotype that confers greater risk for developing BD than ADHD alone. However, underlying neuropathoetiological mechanisms remain poorly understood. This cross-sectional study compared regional microstructure in psychostimulant-free ADHD youth with ('high-risk', HR) and without ('low-risk', LR) a first-degree relative with BD, and healthy controls (HC).

Background: Choroid plexus (CP) is considered to be linked to inflammation of multiple sclerosis (MS), but its connection with markers of inflammation in vivo in MS is unclear, the markers such as lesions load and brain atrophy, particularly the white matter lesions (WMLs) edge surrounded by an iron rim, termed as iron rim lesions (IRLs).
Purpose: To investigate the association between CP volume and brain lesions load, especially IRLs load and atrophy in MS, and its relationship with clinical characteristics.
Methods: 3.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have recently been widely used to treat osteoarthritis (OA). Our prior research shows that tropoelastin (TE) increases MSC activity and protects knee cartilage from OA-related degradation. The underlying mechanism might be that TE regulates the paracrine of MSCs.

Background: Bone age is the age of skeletal development and is a direct indicator of physical growth and development in children. Most bone age assessment (BAA) systems use direct regression with the entire hand bone map or first segmenting the region of interest (ROI) using the clinical method and then deriving the bone age based on the characteristics of the ROI, which takes more time and requires more computation.
Materials And Methods: Key bone grades and locations were determined using three real-time target detection models and Key Bone Search (KBS) post-processing using the RUS-CHN approach, and then the age of the bones was predicted using a Lightgbm regression model.

This study aimed to establish a deep learning radiomics nomogram (DLRN) based on multiparametric MR images for predicting the response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC). Patients with LACC (FIGO stage IB-IIIB) who underwent preoperative NACT were enrolled from center 1 (220 cases) and center 2 (independent external validation dataset, 65 cases). Handcrafted and deep learning-based radiomics features were extracted from T2WI, DWI and contrast-enhanced (CE)-T1WI, and radiomics signatures were built based on the optimal features.

To establish a risk prediction model and make individualized assessment for the susceptible diabetic retinopathy (DR) population in type 2 diabetic mellitus (T2DM) patients. According to the retrieval strategy, inclusion and exclusion criteria, the relevant meta-analyses on DR risk factors were searched and evaluated. The pooled odds ratio (OR) or relative risk (RR) of each risk factor was obtained and calculated for β coefficients using logistic regression (LR) model.

Aim: To compare the therapeutic efficacy of ultrasound-guided high-intensity focused ultrasound (USgHIFU) in the treatment of adenomyosis with different signal intensity (SI) on T2-weighted images (T2WI).
Methods: A total of 299 adenomyosis patients who underwent HIFU and completed a one-year follow-up were retrospectively reviewed. Based on the SI values of adenomyosis relative to myometrium and endometrium on T2WI MRI, the patients were classified into three groups: the hypointense adenomyosis (Hypo-AM) group, the isointense adenomyosis (Iso-AM) group, and the hyperintense adenomyosis (Hyper-AM) group.

Recent studies highlight the vital role of oxidative stress and reactive oxygen species (ROS) during progression of osteoarthritis (OA). Attenuating oxidative stress and reducing reactive oxygen species generation in joints represent reasonable strategies for the treatment of osteoarthritis. To address the potential question for clinical translation, and improve the biocompatibility and long-term performance of current antioxidants, the present study provided high biocompatible small positively charged tantalum nanoparticles (Ta-NH NPs) with sustained intra-articular catalase activity and first applied to osteoarthritis intervention.

Bone marrow stimulation (BMS) is the most used operative treatment in repairing cartilage defect clinically, but always results in fibrocartilage formation, which is easily worn out and needs second therapy. In this study, we prepared an Etanercept (Ept) embedded silk fibroin/pullulan hydrogel to enhance the therapeutic efficacy of BMS. Ept was dissolved in silk fibroin (SF)-tyramine substituted carboxymethylated pullulan (PL) solution and enzyme crosslinked to obtain the Ept contained SF/PL hydrogel.

Antibiotic residues in breast milk can have an impact on the intestinal flora and health of babies. Amoxicillin, as one of the most used antibiotics, affects the abundance of some intestinal bacteria. In this study, we developed a convenient and rapid process that used a combination of colorimetric methods and artificial intelligence image preprocessing, and back propagation-artificial neural network (BP-ANN) analysis to detect amoxicillin in breast milk.

Endogenous volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can reflect human health status and be used for clinical diagnosis and health monitoring. Dimethylamine and ammonia are the signature VOC gases of nephropathy. In order to find a potential gas sensitivity material for the detection of both signature VOC gases of nephropathy, this paper investigated the adsorption properties of dimethylamine and ammonia on Al- and Ga-doped BN monolayers based on density functional theory.
