Epidermal growth factor (EGF) binds with its surface receptor to stimulate gene expression and cancer cell proliferation. EGF stimulates cancer cell growth via phosphoinositide 3‑kinase (PI3K) and programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD‑L1) pathways. As an integrin αvβ3 antagonist, heteronemin exhibits potent cytotoxic effects against cancer cells.

Background: Early identification of developmental delay in children can help in making early intervention for its management. Routine developmental screening is not being practised in India due to lack of trained field workers, lack of awareness among parents and lack of feasible assessment screening tool. There is lack of studies that focuses on home environment provided to the children as it is associated with developmental delay.

Background: Up to 23% of breast cancer patients recurred within a decade after trastuzumab treatment. Conversely, one trial found that patients with low HER2 expression and metastatic breast cancer had a positive response to trastuzumab-deruxtecan (T-Dxd). This indicates that relying solely on HER2 as a single diagnostic marker to predict the efficacy of anti-HER2 drugs is insufficient.

In this study, a novel approach that combines photoinduced electron transfer (ET) with hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) has been introduced for the selective β-C(sp)-H pyridination of carbonyl compounds. This method is notable for its absence of transition metals and its ability to function under benign reaction conditions, resulting in a range of pyridinated carbonyl derivatives with consistently moderate to good yields. The significance of this technique is further underscored by its potential for the late-stage functionalization of pharmaceutically significant molecules.

Introduction And Importance: Xanthogranulomatous inflammation of the female genital tract is a rare condition involving ovarian tubes characterized by chronic inflammation and destruction of pelvic organs, often mimicking pelvic malignancy.
Case Presentation: A 37-year-old female with a history of chronic kidney disease, hypertension, and treated pulmonary tuberculosis, presented with lower abdominal fullness, pain, and irregular menstrual cycles.
Clinical Discussion: Radiological investigations revealed a significant left adnexal mass, suggesting a tubo-ovarian abscess or neoplastic lesion.

Hepatitis B elimination objectives can only be realised if new patient linkage to care is matched by long-term patient retention in care. We previously showed in adult chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients that retention in care was inferior in younger patients and in patients from non-Asian ethnicities. The present study explores further the rates and determinants of loss to follow-up in a cohort of 271 young patients (aged 16-21 years at baseline).

Background: Recent studies show that N6-methyladenosine (m6A) plays an important role in the pathogenesis of the Alzheimer's disease (AD), while the mechanisms involved were studied insufficiently.
Aims: The present study aimed to explore the effect of human insulin-like growth factor 2 (IGF2) mRNA binding proteins 2 (IGF2BP2), one of the m6A-binding proteins on the progression of AD.
Materials & Methods: The mRNA and protein expression level were determined using RT-qPCR and western blot, respectively.

Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is a high-mortality lung disease with limited treatment options, highlighting the need for new therapies. Cyclin-dependent kinase 8 (CDK8) is a promising target due to its role in regulating transcription via the TGF-β/Smad pathway, though CDK8 inhibitors have not been thoroughly studied for PF. This study aims to evaluate the potential of E966-0530-45418, a novel CDK8 inhibitor, in mitigating PF progression and explores its underlying mechanisms.

Vascular occlusive diseases remain a major health burden worldwide, necessitating a deeper understanding of the adaptive responses that mitigate their impact. Arteriogenesis, the growth and remodeling of collateral vessels in response to arterial occlusion, is a vital defense mechanism that counteracts fluid shear stress-induced vascular stenosis or occlusion. While physical factors driving arteriogenesis have been extensively studied, the specific cellular mediators involved are poorly understood.

Objective: There is a dearth of studies examining the link between artistic activity and psychosocial outcomes exclusively among the oldest old. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the association between artistic activity and psychosocial outcomes among individuals aged 80 years and over in Germany.
Methods/design: Data for this analysis were taken from the "Old Age in Germany (D80+)" study, a nationwide sample encompassing both community-dwelling individuals aged 80 and above, as well as those residing in care facilities.
Introduction: Infection control in intensive care units (ICUs) is crucial due to the high risk of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), which can increase patient morbidity, mortality, and costs. Effective measures such as hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), patient isolation, and environmental cleaning are vital to minimize these risks. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) offers new opportunities to enhance infection control, from predicting outbreaks to optimizing antimicrobial use, ultimately improving patient safety and care in ICUs.

Background: Early differentiation between spinal tuberculosis (STB) and acute osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF) is crucial for determining the appropriate clinical management and treatment pathway, thereby significantly impacting patient outcomes.
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of deep learning (DL) models using reconstructed sagittal CT images in the differentiation of early STB from acute OVCF, with the aim of enhancing diagnostic precision, reducing reliance on MRI and biopsies, and minimizing the risks of misdiagnosis.
Methods: Data were collected from 373 patients, with 302 patients recruited from a university-affiliated hospital serving as the training and internal validation sets, and an additional 71 patients from another university-affiliated hospital serving as the external validation set.

Purpose: Epigenetic modifications, such as aberrant DNA methylation, histone alterations, non-coding RNA remodeling, and modulation of transcription factors, are pivotal in the pathogenesis of diverse malignancies. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) have the capacity to impact these epigenetic mechanisms, including DNA methylation, throughout the different stages of cancer development. Therefore, the aim of this review is to address the impact of.

While it has a significant impact on their social life, it is also supposedly linked with various comorbidities, of which, cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the most frequently reported. Various biological, behavioral, and genetic mechanisms are thought to play a role: hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, autonomic nervous system dysregulation, inflammation, and psychotropic medications.
