A new α-emitting isotope ^{214}U, produced by the fusion-evaporation reaction ^{182}W(^{36}Ar,4n)^{214}U, was identified by employing the gas-filled recoil separator SHANS and the recoil-α correlation technique. More precise α-decay properties of even-even nuclei ^{216,218}U were also measured in the reactions of ^{40}Ar, ^{40}Ca beams with ^{180,182,184}W targets. By combining the experimental data, improved α-decay reduced widths δ^{2} for the even-even Po-Pu nuclei in the vicinity of the magic neutron number N=126 are deduced.

Printed copper materials have been attracting significant attention prominently due to their electric, mechanical, and thermal properties. The emerging copper-based flexible electronics and energy-critical applications rely on the control of electric conductivity, current-carrying capacity, and reliability of copper nanostructures and their printable ink materials. In this review, we describe the growth of copper nanostructures as the building blocks for printable ink materials on which a variety of conductive features can be additively manufactured to achieve high electric conductivity and stability.

We report the modular design and synthesis of an amine dangled Schiff base quinoline-morpholine conjugate (QMC) for highly selective detection of Pb ions via fluorimetry. The sensing strategy of QMC towards Pb ion exhibits a large blue shift with fluorescent enhancement via the intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) process. At the same time, QMC coordination with Pb, the CN single bond rotation between quinoline and morpholine rings and the CN isomerization process were blocked.

Ursolic acid is widely used as an effective anticancer drug for the treatment of various cancers. However, its poor water solubility, short circulation time , and lack of targeting have made it a burden for clinical applications. We report a self-assembled folate-modified pectin nanoparticle for loading ursolic acid (HCPT@F-Pt-PU NPs) and embed the anticancer drug hydroxycamptothecin to achieve synergistic treatment with ursolic acid.

Electromagnetic-interference (EMI) shielding materials that are green, lightweight, and with high mechanical properties need to be urgently developed to address increasingly severe radiation pollution. However, limited EMI shielding materials are successfully used in practical applications, due to the intensive energy consumption or the absence of sufficient strength. Herein, an environmentally friendly and effective method was proved to fabricate wood-based composites with high mechanical robustness and EMI shielding performance by a MXene/cellulose scaffold assembly strategy.

Many organic molecules with various functional groups have been used to passivate the perovskite surface for improving the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cell (PSCs). However, the intrinsic attributes of the passivation effect based on different chemical bonds are rarely studied. Here, we comparatively investigate the passivation effect among 12 types of functional groups on para-tert-butylbenzene for PSCs and find that the open circuit voltage (V) tends to increase with the chemical bonding strength between perovskite and these passivation additive molecules.

The Vacuum Insulation Panel (VIP), regarded as the most promising high-performance thermal insulation material, still has application limitations because of its high cost. In this paper, VIPs using natural straw as the core material are prepared. The fiber saturation point (FSP) is important in order to determine the optimum for the use of renewable straw materials as a potential VIP core.

In order to overcome the drawbacks of FeO composite samples and greatly increase their performance in microwave absorption, magnetic FeO spindles coated with dielectric SnO nanorods and MnO nanoflakes have been successfully synthesized by a four-step simple hydrothermal route. This rationally designed magneto-dielectric ternary nanocomposite will introduce multiple reflection and conductive losses caused by its special multilayer structure and the effective complementarity of dielectric loss and magnetic loss. Therefore, its absorbing performance can be greatly improved.

The use of amyloid-beta (Aβ) biomarkers could contribute to an early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD); however, there are still large variations among results from different assays. This variability can be overcome by standardization of those assays through the use of certified reference materials (CRMs) and the establishment of a traceability chain. In this study, Aβ (GBW09874) and Aβ (GBW09875) solution CRMs with the certified values and uncertainties of 7.

Vertical aligned carbon nanotube (VACNT) arrays used as dry adhesive materials have broad prospects in the applied fields of space, medicine and electronics. The adhesion of VACNT arrays is believed to be related not only to the nano-array structure and a clean surface, but also to chemical composition. Here, radio-frequency (RF) carbon dioxide (CO) plasma treatment is introduced as an effective method for purifying and functionalizing the surface to improve the dry adhesive performance of VACNT arrays.

The charge redistribution strategy driven by heteroatom doping or defect engineering has been developed as an efficient method to endow inert carbon with significant oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity. The synergetic effect between the two approaches is thus expected to be more effective for manipulating the charge distribution of carbon materials for exceptional ORR performance. Herein we report a novel molecular design strategy to achieve a 2D porous turbostratic carbon nanomesh with abundant N-doped carbon defects (NDC).

To exploit the high-temperature superinsulation potential of anisotropic thermal management materials, the incorporation of ceramic aerogel into the aligned structural networks is indispensable. However, the long-standing obstacle to exploring ultralight superinsulation ceramic aerogels is the inaccessibility of its mechanical elasticity, stability, and anisotropic thermal insulation. In this study, we report a recoverable, flexible ceramic fiber-aerogel composite with anisotropic lamellar structure, where the interfacial cross-linking between ceramic fiber and aerogel is important in its superinsulation performance.
