Background: Tyrosine-protein kinase receptor Ret (RET), a proto-oncogene, is considered as an attractive drug target for cancer and neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease (AD).
Objective: We aimed to identify potential inhibitors of RET kinase among natural compounds present in the ZINC database.
Methods: A multistep structure-based virtual screening approach was used to identify potential RET kinase inhibitors based on their binding affinities, docking scores, and interactions with the biologically important residues of RET kinase.

Introduction: Declining cognition in later life is associated with loss of independence and quality of life. This decline in cognition may potentially be reduced or reversed through engaging in cognitively stimulating activities. This study examined the potential for university attendance in later life to enhance cognitive function in older adults.

Background: Botulinum toxin A (BoNT-A) is an effective treatment for cervical dystonia. Nevertheless, up to 30% to 40% patients discontinue treatment, often because of poor response. The British Neurotoxin Network (BNN) recently published guidelines on the management of poor response to BoNT-A in cervical dystonia, but adherence to these guidelines has not yet been assessed.

Importance And Objectives: There is unmet medical need to understand the pathogenic mechanism of the panoply of clinical manifestations associated with silicone breast implants (SBIs) such as severe fatigue, widespread pain, palpitations, dry mouth and eyes, depression, hearing loss etc. We aimed to determine whether autoantibodies against the autonomic nervous system receptors can explain the enigmatic and subjective clinical manifestation reported by women with SBIs.
Results: Circulating level of autoantibodies against G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) of the autonomic nervous system (adrenergic, muscarinic, endothelin and angiotensin receptors) have been evaluated in symptomatic women with SBIs using an ELISA method.

Objective Clinicians across all health professions increasingly strive to add value to the care they deliver through the application of the central tenets of people-centred care (PCC), namely the 'right care', in the 'right place', at the 'right time' and 'tailored to the needs of communities'. This ideal is being hampered by a lack of a structured, evidence-based means to formulate policy and value the commissioning of services in an environment of increasing appreciation for the complex health needs of communities. This creates significant challenges for policy makers, commissioners and providers of health services.

Background And Objectives: A key aspect of the Internet that facilitates research is social media, especially the meteoric rise in the use of Facebook as one of the primary applications for social connectivity. Facebook can be considered a rich source of data due to the high amounts of demographic information shared by users and stored in the system, as well as the way in which users share their thoughts and behaviour in their natural environment. This report focuses on one functionality that as yet remained under-discussed and perhaps under-utilised as a tool in health research - the ability for participants or interested parties to leave comments directly on Facebook posts relating to research projects.

The role of the immunoproteasome is perceived as confined to adaptive immune responses given its ability to produce peptides ideal for MHC Class-I binding. Here, we demonstrate that the immunoproteasome subunit, LMP2, has functions beyond its immunomodulatory role. Using LMP2-deficient mice, we demonstrate that LMP2 is crucial for lymphocyte development and survival in the periphery.
