Introduction: High-risk fertility behaviors (HRFB), including short birth intervals, early or late childbearing age, and high parity, are associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes. Understanding the importance of socioeconomic disparity in HRFB and the factors influencing this disparity is essential to improve maternal and child survival, Accordingly, this study investigated socioeconomic inequalities in HRFB over time and its contributing factors.
Methods: We included a total weighted sample of 11,163 and 5,527 women aged 15 to 49 years from the 2005 and 2019 Ethiopia Demographic and Health Surveys, respectively.

Background: The recent human monkeypox (mpox) outbreak in 2022 has become a serious concern due to its rapid expansion to various non-endemic countries. There is limited information about the knowledge regarding mpox among the Bangladeshi population. Therefore, this study's objectives were to: (i) determine the level of knowledge regarding mpox among undergraduate and post-graduate students in Bangladesh, and (ii) assess the determinants of knowledge regarding mpox among the study sample.

Background: Individuals who have recently acquired HIV represent a unique population because the time frame since HIV acquisition is relatively short and identification of missed HIV prevention opportunities is, therefore, closer to real time and less subject to recall bias. Identifying prevention measures used and missed opportunities for using them, can help stop further HIV transmission.
Objectives: This systematic review aims to synthesise current global evidence on uptake of HIV prevention methods among people with recently acquired HIV from 2007, the year that the concept of ART as a prevention method was first introduced.

Purpose: Acinetobacter baumannii (A. baumannii) is an emerging global public health threat owing to its ability to form biofilms. Here, we evaluated 3-hydroxybenzoic acid (3-HBA), a promising organic compound, for its ability to disrupt biofilm formation and virulence attributes in clinical isolates of A.

Objectives: Caries is a significant public health challenge. Herein, novel tooth-targeting antimicrobial peptides (HABPs@AMPs) were developed by combining the antimicrobial peptide DJK-5 with hydroxyapatite (HA) binding peptides, providing a potential new strategy for caries management.
Materials And Methods: The minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimal biofilm inhibitory concentration (MBIC) values of HABPs@AMPs were determined via micro-broth dilution and crystal violet staining.

To examine the effect of using Virtual Reality distraction on salivary cortisol levels in children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) during routine dental treatments. A randomized cross-over study was designed and children with a known diagnosis of ASD, between 8 and 15 years of age, requiring routine, non-invasive dental treatments, were recruited. They were divided into 2 groups (group 1 and group 2) and scheduled for dental treatments using conventional behavior management and/or VR distraction techniques in their first and second dental visit, accordingly.

Zinc oxide NPs (ZnO NPs) are notable in nanomedicine for their exceptional physicochemical and biological properties. This study synthesizes and characterizes beta-carotene-coated ZnO NPs (BT-ZnO NPs) for potential anti-cancer and antimicrobial applications, demonstrating significant efficacy against dental pathogens and oral cancer cells. Scanning Electron Microscopy, EDAX, UV, FTIR, XRD, and Zeta potential analysis of prepared BT-ZnO NPs revealed uniform flower-like crystalline structures with intricate morphology and an average particle size of 38.

Background: Headaches affect people's social, intellectual, and personal lives and are quite common worldwide, especially among young adults. Primary headaches that cause significant impairment, such as tension-type headaches (TTH) and migraines, frequently start in adolescence and early adulthood. Research on the incidence and consequences of headache problems among young people in India is scarce, especially when it comes to a variety of academic fields.

Erosive tooth wear (ETW) is a prevalent oral condition with varying etiology, including erosion, abrasion, abfraction, and attrition. It is reported in the literature in different nomenclatures, hindering the ability to identify the emerging trends and influential scholarly works and bodies within this field. Using a bibliometric analysis approach, this study aims to evaluate the trends, themes, and productivity of the research on ETW condition while respecting its different terminologies.

Periodontitis is a highly prevalent chronic disease. Despite decades of extensive research on the topic, a complete understanding of its immunopathogenesis, especially when linked to other inflammatory comorbidities, is lacking. human and animal experiments have shown the host inflammatory response's crucial role in both the disease's onset and its systemic implications.

Background: Regenerative endodontics' primary objective is to establish a favorable environment in the root canal by removing infection, providing a sturdy scaffold, and sealing the apical end of the tooth tightly. These actions should promote pulp regeneration and root development.
Aim: This study evaluated histologically the regenerative potential of injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) hydrogel or collagen with blood clot as scaffolds during revascularization of immature necrotic dog's teeth.

Purpose: Sleep apnea (SA), associated with absent neural output, is characterised by recurrent episodes of hypoxemia and repeated arousals during sleep, resulting in decreased sleep quality and various health complications. Mitochondrial DNA copy number (mtDNA-CN), an easily accessible biomarker in blood, reflects mitochondrial function. However, the causal relationship between mtDNA-CN and SA remains unclear.

Introduction And Objectives: Clinical studies have shown favorable outcomes following use of platelet rich fibrin (PRF), either alone or in conjunction with biomaterials for alveolar ridge reconstruction (ARR) or guided bone regeneration (GBR) . While PRF application accelerates wound healing and reduces postoperative discomfort, its effects on the alveolar bone gain, as part of ARR or GBR is less clear. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the clinical effectiveness of PRF when used in ARR or GBR, as well as postoperative discomfort following these procedures.

As data grows exponentially across diverse fields, effectively leveraging big data has become increasingly crucial. In data science and computational genomics, however, minority groups, including African Americans, are significantly underrepresented, coupled with the lack of resources and infrastructure in minority-serving institutions. This paper summarizes the second phase of our funded project that aims to enhance the data science capacity of Meharry Medical College (MMC), a Historically Black College/University (HBCU), by providing training and fostering collaborations between data scientists and researchers in basic science and biomedical fields.

Introduction Oral verrucous carcinoma (OVC), a low-grade variation of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), is distinguished by endophytic development and a pebbly, mammillated surface. OVC, often referred to as Ackerman's tumor, has been known to involve lymph nodes but rarely spreads to regional and distant locations; when the primary tumor grows, it frequently involves surrounding tissues. Histopathologically, it has a thicker basement membrane, many reduplications, and a large area of inflammatory infiltration that resembles OSCC.

Background: Protocols instituted for behavioral treatment and skills training programs for the management of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) suffer from lack of collaborative approaches. The tenets of interprofessional collaborative practice (IPCP) focus on preparing a panel of health care professionals (HCPs) from different professions who can work together to enable the common goal of ensuring that children with ASD can participate in society. This study was designed to pilot this approach through an IPCP training module on ASD for care providers from multiple professions.

The maintenance of intracellular and extracellular adenosine triphosphate (ATP) levels plays a pivotal role in cardiac function. In recent years, burgeoning attention has been directed towards ATP-induced cell death (AICD), revealing it as a distinct cellular demise pathway triggered by heightened extracellular ATP concentrations, distinguishing it from other forms of cell death such as apoptosis and necrosis. AICD is increasingly acknowledged as a critical mechanism mediating the pathogenesis and progression of various cardiovascular maladies, encompassing myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury, sepsis-induced cardiomyopathy, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, arrhythmia, and diabetic cardiomyopathy.
