To explore CRT gene family members and their responses to low-temperature stress, bioinformatics methods were used to identify the CRT gene family in pepper. In this study, a total of 4 CRT gene family members were identified by screening. The genes were found to be located on different chromosomes, and phylogenetic tree and collinearity analyses were performed.

Understanding the mechanisms behind drought-induced tree mortality is crucial for predicting the impact of global climate change on forests. We studied the mechanism at the cellular level in Populus yunnanensis by profiling membrane lipid molecules in leaves, branch phloem, top and bottom trunk phloem under trunk-girdling-induced drought conditions. We found that both lipid composition and content changed, depending on the tree's tissue positions and the progression of the girdling effect.

To develop clean energy utilization of sewage sludge, this study investigated the conversion behavior of organics and energy in supercritical sludge-ethanol system. The influence of liquefied parameters on products distribution, hydrogen supply process of ethanol for sludge liquefaction, migration of organics, and energy transformation were investigated. Results indicated that ethanol acted as both a solvent and a hydrogen donor.

Salt stress is a major abiotic factor that negatively impacts the growth, performance, and secondary metabolite production in pepper ( L.) plants. Brassinosteroids (BRs) play a crucial role in enhancing plant tolerance to abiotic stress, yet their potential in mitigating salt stress in pepper plants, particularly by promoting sugar and glycine betaine accumulation, remains underexplored.

Heavy metal Cd can easily be accumulated by fungi, causing significant stress, with the fungal cell membrane being one of the primary targets. However, the understanding of the mechanisms behind this stress remains limited. This study investigated the changes in membrane lipid molecules of Pleurotus ostreatus mycelia under Cd stress and the antagonistic effect of Ca on this stress.

Background: Despite its known significance in plant abiotic stress responses, the role of the RAV gene family in the response of Capsicum annuum to chilling stress remains largely unexplored.
Results: In this study, we identified and characterized six members of the CaRAV gene subfamily in pepper plants through genome-wide analysis. Subsequently, the CaRAV subfamily was classified into four branches based on homology with Arabidopsis thaliana, each exhibiting relatively conserved domains within the branch.

Two Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, milk-white coloured, non-motile, short rod-shaped bacteria, designated as strains SYSU D60010 and SYSU D60012, were isolated from sand samples collected from the Taklimakan Desert of Xinjiang Province in China. Both strains were positive for oxidase, catalase and nitrate reduction, but negative for amylase, HS production, hydrolysis of gelatin and cellulase. Strains SYSU D60010 and SYSU D60012 grew well at 28 °C, at pH 7 and had the same NaCl tolerance range of 0-1 % (w/v).

Bacterial infection poses a significant challenge to wound healing and skin regeneration, leading to substantial economic burdens on patients and society. Therefore, it is crucial to promptly explore and develop effective methodologies for bacterial infections. Herein, we propose a novel approach for synthesizing nanostructures based on antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) through the coordination-driven self-assembly of Zn with ASO molecules.

The structural cuticle proteins (CPs) play important roles in the development and fitness of insects. However, knowledge about CP gene superfamily is limited in virus-transmitting insect vectors, although its importance on transmission of plant virus has been gradually emphasized. In this study, the genome-wide identification of CP superfamily was conducted in western flower thrips Frankliniella occidentalis that is the globally invasive pest and plant virus vector pest.
