Background: 2DTEE as semi-invasive method has been for a long time used to visualize the LAA. Improved echocardiography technology has increasingly improved visualization of LAA by 2DTTE and 3DTTE in many patients and decreased the need for TEE performance.

  • Prostate specific antigen (PSA) is crucial for diagnosing and monitoring prostate cancer, but elevated PSA levels can also indicate benign conditions, particularly in ranges of 4.0 to 10.0 ng/mL.
  • An analysis of 80 patients with confirmed prostate cancer revealed that many had normal PSA levels, and while the ratio of free to total PSA and density provided some differentiation between malignant and benign conditions, they did not significantly predict disease progression or metastasis.
  • The study underscores the complexity of PSA interpretation, as a notable portion of patients can present with PSA levels within normal ranges despite having prostate cancer.
