Article Synopsis
  • Thrombocythemia (ET), polycythemia vera (PV), and primary myelofibrosis (PMF) are types of myeloproliferative neoplasms that are challenging to differentiate based on typical characteristics and genetic markers.
  • A study analyzed 211 patients with these conditions, revealing significant differences in blood cell types and specific gene expressions that could be used to distinguish PMF from ET and PV.
  • The use of flow cytometry, particularly certain immune cell markers, provided high sensitivity and specificity for diagnosing PMF and differentiating it from other conditions, indicating its potential to inform treatment decisions effectively.

Fujian Provincial Key Laboratory on Hematology, Fujian Medical Center of Hematology, Fujian Institute of Hematology, Clinical Research Center for Hematological Malignancies of Fujian Province, Fujian Medical University Union Hospital, Fuzhou, 350001, China.

Objective: YAP1 plays a dual role as an oncogene and tumor suppressor gene in several tumors; differentiating between these roles may depend on the YAP1 phosphorylation pattern. The specific function of YAP1 in B cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL), however, is currently unclear. Thus, in the present study, the role of YAP1 in B-ALL was investigated using relevant cell lines and patient datasets.

Hepatitis-associated aplastic anemia (HAAA) is a life-threatening hematologic disorder characterized by bone marrow failure. Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is the first-line treatment for HAAA. Severe infection and complications in patients with very severe aplastic anemia are the challenges to the efficacy of HSCT.

Fujian Institute of Hematology, Fujian Medical Center of Hematology, Clinical Research Center for Hematological Malignancies of Fujian Province, Fujian Provincial Key Laboratory on Hematology, Fujian Medical University Union Hospital, Fuzhou, Fujian, 350001, China. Electronic address:

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is the most common acute leukemia in adults, associated with poor prognosis and easy relapse of disease. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) were detected to be mA modified and the role of mA circRNAs has been reported in other diseases including cancers, however, their role has not been elucidated in AML yet. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the expression profiling of mA circRNAs in AML.

Canonical epigenetic modifications, which include histone modification, chromatin remodeling and DNA methylation, play key roles in numerous cellular processes. Epigenetics underlies how cells that posses DNA with similar sequences develop into different cell types with different functions in an organism. Earlier epigenetic research has primarily been focused at the chromatin level.

The activated B cell (ABC) and germinal center B cell (GCB) subtypes of diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) have different gene expression profiles and clinical outcomes, and miRNAs have been reported to play important roles in tumorigenesis, progression, and metastasis. This study aimed to explore the differentially expressed miRNAs and target genes in the two main subtypes of DLBCL. Hub miRNAs were identified by constructing a regulatory network, and experiments and peripheral blood samples of DLBCL were used to explore the functions and mechanisms of differential miRNAs and mRNAs.
