Background: Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a type of inflammatory bowel disease associated with persistent inflammation. Animal studies proved the efficacy of metformin in UC.
Aim: To investigate the potential role of metformin and its protective pathways in patients with UC.
Aims: To investigate the efficacy and safety of tadalafil (TAD) versus pentoxifylline (PTX) in the management of diabetic kidney disease (DKD). Some animal studies and clinical trials reported that tadalafil and pentoxifylline have a reducing effect on different blood glucose parameters and lipid profiles which contribute to progress the patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) to DKD.
Methods: From February 2022 to March 2023, 90 patients with type 2 DM and DKD (micro-albuminuria) were enrolled in this randomized-controlled study.

In this research, eight natural deep eutectic solvents (NaDESs) consisting of food-grade ingredients were screened for the extraction of four bioactive compounds (acteoside, cinnamic acid, angoroside C and harpagoside) from radix scrophulariae (RS). Among these NaDESs, Proline-Glycerol NaDES with higher comprehensive score was selected. The Criteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation (CRITIC) was applied to calculate the information entropy and the weight of indexes, and figured out a comprehensive score.

Neurological injury is a crucial problem that interferes with the therapeutic use of vinca alkaloids as well as the quality of patient life. This study was conducted to assess the impact of using loratadine or diosmin/hesperidin on neuropathy induced by vinca alkaloids. Patients were randomized into one of three groups as follows: group 1 was the control group, group 2 received 450 mg diosmin and 50 mg hesperidin combination orally twice daily, and group 3 received loratadine 10 mg orally once daily.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a debilitating joint disorder characterized by cartilage degradation and chronic inflammation, accompanied by high oxidative stress. In this study, we utilized the monosodium iodoacetate (MIA)-induced OA model to investigate the efficacy of oligo-fucoidan-based formula (FF) intervention in mitigating OA progression. Through its capacity to alleviate joint bearing function and inflammation, improvements in cartilage integrity following oligo-fucoidan-based formula intervention were observed, highlighting its protective effects against cartilage degeneration and structural damage.
