Background: The development of long-acting products of a characterized drug substance is of great interest. It is possible to support the development of these products with available clinical data by matching the exposure to a predefined bracket of a minimal concentration for efficacy and a maximal concentration for safety. This bracketing approach would cut down on the time and cost of new long-acting contraceptive products progressing to market.

Willingness to Receive COVID-19 Booster Dose Using the Health Belief Model (HBM) Among University Students: Cross-Sectional Study.

COVID-19 has significantly impacted lives, and data show that receiving a booster vaccination has been demonstrated to lower the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the severity of the risk of infection. The Saudi government has actively promoted booster dose vaccines among university students who can spread the virus to older populations, especially in high-density environments, where the risk of virus transmission and spread is elevated. This study focuses on the acceptance of COVID-19 booster shots among students at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University.

The feasibility of repurposing selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors as adjunctive antibacterial agents is an area of current investigation. We sought to evaluate if fluoxetine will achieve synergistic killing with relevant antibacterial drugs against skin and soft tissue pathogens and multidrug-resistant pathogens. : The MIC of fluoxetine was determined using broth microdilution for a diverse isolate collection of 21 organisms.

Protective Effects of L-Cysteine Against Cisplatin-Induced Oxidative Stress-Mediated Reproductive Damage.

Cisplatin (CIS) is a widely used chemotherapeutic agent, but its side effects, such as oxidative stress, inflammation, and apoptosis, often lead to male reproductive damage. Oxidative stress, primarily caused by the excessive generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), plays a critical role in disrupting testicular homeostasis, resulting in spermatogenic impairment and tissue injury. L-cysteine (CYS), a semi-essential amino acid with potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, may offer protection against CIS-induced oxidative damage.

Introduction: Medical sector students must be well-educated and competent to spread public awareness of antibiotics among the public to combat antibiotic resistance. This study aimed to assess the knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) of students regarding antibiotic use and resistance in Egypt.

Background: Lipid metabolism disorders are among the most common metabolic diseases that are increasing globally and are associated with chronic metabolic disturbances. Introduction: Temocillin is a semi-synthetic β-lactam with a narrow spectrum but high stability against hydrolysis by β-lactamases, including AmpC. Despite its favourable properties, data regarding its clinical value in the treatment of AmpC β-lactamase-producing Enterobacterales (ABPE) infections are scarce. Most recent guidelines do not include temocillin in the therapeutic strategy for ABPE infection.

Effectiveness of traditional non-carbapenem β-lactams vs. novel β-lactams for the treatment of carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa: a retrospective cohort study.

Background: The World Health Organization (WHO) has identified carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CRPA) as one of the three critical priority pathogens. Population Pharmacokinetics of Ledipasvir/Sofosbuvir in Pediatric Patients: Impact of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

We aimed to study whether ALL could affect population PK parameters of LDV, SOF, and the SOF major metabolite GS-331007 in hepatitis C virus-infected children, develop and validate a predictive PK model of LDV/SOF disposition in this special population, and identify their explained and unexplained sources of variability.

Estrogen (E2) deficiency is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD), however, the exact mechanism for the E2 protective effect on CVD remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the estrogen receptor (ER) and non-receptor mediated effects of E2 treatment on the cardiac expression of adenosine monophosphate-dependent protein kinase (AMPK), autophagic, mitophagy and mitochondrial homeostasis-regulating genes in ovariectomized (OVX) rats. Female rats were divided into two main groups; sham and bilaterally OVX rats, then each group was subdivided into four subgroups according to treatment; untreated, subcutaneously treated with E2 (30 μg/kg), or Fulvestrant (F) (5 mg/Kg), or a combination of both drugs for 28 days.
