Recent advancements in the mechanistic comprehension of vascular biology have concentrated on METTL3-mediated N-methyladenosine modification of RNA, which modulates a spectrum of RNA functionalities with precision. Despite extensive investigations into the roles and mechanisms of METTL3 within vascular biology, a holistic review elucidating their interconnections remains absent. This analysis endeavors to meticulously scrutinize the involvement of METTL3 in both the physiological and pathological paradigms of vascular biology.

Vitamin D deficiency during pregnancy is associated with an increased risk of health issues in the offspring. Accordingly, recent Endocrine Society guidelines strongly support supplementation in pregnancy, also underlining that without consensus on optimal maternal vitamin D levels, routine screening is currently irrelevant. Knowledge of organ-specific effects of vitamin D and its association with maternal vitamin D status may aid to optimize vitamin D supplementation.

Background: The human gut microbiome strongly influences host metabolism by fermenting dietary components into metabolites that signal to the host. Our previous work has shown that Intestinimonas butyriciproducens is a prevalent commensal bacterium with the unique ability to convert dietary fructoselysine to butyrate, a well-known signaling molecule with proven health benefits. Dietary fructoselysine is an abundant Amadori product formed in foods during thermal treatment and is part of foods rich in dietary advanced glycation end products which have been associated with cardiometabolic disease.

Purpose: Metabolic reprogramming, particularly the Warburg effect, plays a crucial role in the onset and progression of tumors. The ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 Q2 (UBE2Q2) has been identified overexpressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Our aim was to determine if UBE2Q2 plays a role in regulating glycolysis, contributing to the carcinogenesis of HCC.

However, existing methods often require tailored protocols for individual modalities, limiting their automation potential and clinical applicability. To address this, we introduce UDA-seq, a universal workflow that integrates a post-indexing step to enhance throughput and systematically adapt existing droplet-based single-cell multimodal methods.

This study aimed to identify biomolecular differences between benign gastric tissues (gastritis/intestinal metaplasia) and gastric adenocarcinoma and to evaluate the diagnostic power of Raman spectroscopy-based machine learning in gastric adenocarcinoma. Raman spectroscopy-based machine learning was applied in real-time during endoscopy in 19 patients (aged 51-85 years) with high-risk for gastric adenocarcinoma. Raman spectra were captured from suspicious lesions and adjacent normal mucosa, which were biopsied for matched histopathologic diagnosis.
