Background: Prolgolimab is an IgG1 anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody with the Fc-silencing 'LALA' mutation. The phase III DOMAJOR study assessed efficacy and safety of prolgolimab in combination with pemetrexed and platinum-based chemotherapy vs placebo in combination with pemetrexed and platinum-based chemotherapy as first-line treatment for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Methods: 292 patients with advanced non-squamous NSCLC were randomized 1:1 to receive 4 cycles of pemetrexed, platinum-based drug and either prolgolimab (3 mg/kg Q3W) or placebo followed by prolgolimab/placebo with pemetrexed until disease progression or toxicity (≤36 months).

Lower back pain (LBP) is a common condition affecting primarily populations in developed countries, placing a significant burden on public health systems around the world. A high rate of pain recurrence increases the risk of developing a chronic syndrome and the occurrence of complex psychosocial and professional problems. Symptoms lasting longer than 12 weeks are associated with the risk of sleep problems, depression, and anxiety.

The Experts Group on Inositol in Basic and Clinical Research, and on PCOS (EGOI-PCOS), 00161 Rome, Italy.
Myo-inositol plays a vital role in human health, functioning as a second messenger of FSH and facilitating the transport of glucose into the cell. Consequently, myo-inositol is regularly utilized in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), wherein it acts upon metabolic factors, improving insulin sensitivity and reducing total androgen levels. Patients with PCOS frequently suffer from infertility; thus, the use of myo-inositol has been explored in improving assistive reproductive technique (ART) procedures.

The great saphenous vein (GSV) has long been recognized as the best conduit for vascular bypass procedures. Concomitant varicose veins disease may be a reason for GSV unavailability either due to dilatation and tortuosity of the vein or due to its destruction during invasive venous treatment. -to assess the rate of varicose vein patients with concomitant lower extremity arterial disease (LEAD) who have previously lost their GSV due to venous ablation.

Skeletal muscle relaxants have their place in everyday use in numerous anesthesiological procedures, such as preparing a patient for surgery, supporting mechanical ventilation, and performing effective intubation. These drugs can be divided, based on their mechanism of action, into depolarizing skeletal relaxants, such as succinylcholine, and non-depolarizing skeletal muscle relaxants. Non-depolarizing agents are further categorized, based on their structure, into steroidal (eg, rocuronium) and benzylisoquinoline (eg, atracurium) compounds.

Introduction And Objective: Elimination irrigation therapy has been proposed as a potential treatment for upper respiratory tract infections, particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic, due to its antiviral properties and mechanical cleansing effects. Additionally, a combination of mineral water with antibiotic therapy has shownto be effective in improving the course clinical infection and positively impact the immune system, potentially enhancing the normal state of microbiota state. The aim of the study is to investigate the influence of elimination-irrigation therapy using a combination of mineral water and ciprofloxacin on the interaction form of individual microbiota species of the upper respiratory tract mucous membrane.

Atrial fibrillation (AF) and heart failure (HF) often accompany each other, as they share similar risk factors and pathophysiological mechanisms. AF in patients with HF is known to increase hospitalizations and worsen prognosis. A combination of AF and HF translates into high risks of thromboembolic complications, which renders anticoagulants an important aspect of therapy for these patients.

We present a series of articles proving the existence of a previously unknown mechanism of interaction between hematopoietic stem cells and extracellular double-stranded DNA (and, in particular, double-stranded DNA of the peripheral bloodstream), which explains the possibility of emergence and fixation of genetic information contained in double-stranded DNA of extracellular origin in hematopoietic stem cells. The concept of the possibility of stochastic or targeted changes in the genome of hematopoietic stem cells is formulated based on the discovery of new, previously unknown biological properties of poorly differentiated hematopoietic precursors. The main provisions of the concept are as follows.

Objective assessment of respiratory and cardiovascular reserves is important for planning of total resections in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is one of the leading comorbidities in patients with newly diagnosed NSCLC. Noninvasive assessment of exercise tolerance (6-minute step test, stair test) combined with analysis of external respiratory function and diffusing capacity of lungs underlie basic testing before lung resections.

Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) is a classic representative of the group of prion diseases and is characterized by progressive degeneration of the structures of the nervous system with a variety of neurological symptoms, steady progression and inevitable death. The disease is based on a change in the tertiary structure of the protein, which leads to disruption of the normal functioning of cells. Despite the fact that the etiology and pathogenesis of CJD are now well studied, intravital diagnosis of this serious disease remains difficult due to the peculiarities of the pathological process (unusually long incubation period, variety of clinical symptoms), the lack of pathognomonic markers that make it possible to make a diagnosis with a high degree of confidence, and also insufficient awareness of medical workers.

The presence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and COVID-19 infection is a detrimental combination for patients and can cause negative clinical consequences. The investigation aimed to compare sociodemographic and clinical parameters of COPD individuals hospitalized for exacerbations before and at the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. An observational cross-sectional study including 222 patients with COPD was conducted in two stages: a survey and assessment of clinical and laboratory data of patients hospitalized from September 2022 to March 2023 (n=98) and processing of the medical histories of patients with COPD who received hospital treatment in 2017 and 2018 (n=124).
