Objective: The aim was to evaluate early and medium-term outcomes of double fenestrated physician-modified endovascular grafts for total endovascular aortic arch repair.

Methods: This single-center retrospective analysis of prospectively-collected data included 100 patients, from January 2017 to December 2021, undergoing thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) for zone 0. The fenestrations were a proximal larger fenestration that incorporated the brach2iocephalic trunk and left common carotid artery and a distal smaller fenestration for the left subclavian artery (LSA).

It has been shown that sagittal profile alterations affect quality of life of patients with a similar or even greater impact than chronic disease. Evaluation of the SB has gained much relevance in recent years, with recognition of its importance in the evaluation of spinal pathology.

Modified McLaughlin Procedure Using a Double-Row Suture Anchor for Chronic Locked Posterior Shoulder Dislocation: A Case Report.

Case: A 49-year-old highly active man had a direct fall on the left shoulder, causing a chronic locked posterior shoulder dislocation. Radiographic analysis revealed a reverse Hill-Sachs lesion (RHSL) that affected 31% of the articular surface. He was successfully treated with a modified McLaughlin procedure that included a double-row suture anchor as a novel fixation approach to secure the lesser tuberosity transfer and the subscapularis tenodesis.

The genetics of bipolar disorder with obesity and type 2 diabetes.

Background: Bipolar disorder (BD) presents with high obesity and type 2 diabetes (T2D) and pathophysiological and phenomenological abnormalities shared with cardiometabolic disorders. Genomic studies may help define if they share genetic liability. This selective review of BD with obesity and T2D will focus on genomic studies, stress their current limitations and guide future steps in developing the field.

Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic inflammatory disease of the hair follicle characterized by recurrent painful and inflamed lesions, predominantly affecting intertriginous regions. Due to its physical sequelae and impact on quality of life, we should be familiarized with this disease to make an appropriate diagnosis and implement an early treatment. This executive summary of the clinical guideline, elaborated by the hidradenitis suppurativa workgroup of the Chilean Society of Dermatology and Venereology (SOCHIDERM), reviews its definition, epidemiology, pathophysiology, risk factors, comorbidities, psycho-emotional impact, clinical presentation, diagnosis, classifications, ultrasonographic evaluation, and its medical and surgical treatments.

The advent of SARS-CoV-2 disease in 2020 confronts us with a growing and exponential increase in patients at life risk due to catastrophic and multisystemic respiratory failure in need of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) to survive. This has generated in our country the establishment of ECMO treatment Units in hospitals where it was not carried out before or was carried out as part the interventions in Intensive Care Units (ICU), becoming a new challenge to the infection control and prevention programs.
