Background: The right colon cancer (RCC) has some particularities from point of view of epidemiology, clinical aspects, therapy and prognosis.
Material And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the patients operated in the First Surgical Unit Iaşi during 2004 until 2009, for right colon cancer. The patients' data from the medical files were digitally encoded and included into a MS Access database, and statistically analyzed.

Aim: The presentation of a rare complication of oral anticoagulant treatment involving abdominal surgery.
Material And Method: A 59 years old patient who received oral anticoagulant treatment with Warfarine for repeated episodes of thrombosis of the lower limbs, suddenly develops an occlusive abdominal simptoms, which did not submit under conservative treatment. Biologically the clotting times were modified and the abdominal CT showed lesions of the first jejunal loop.

We present a female patient of 70 years, admitted in emergency department for signs of high bowel obstruction. After preoperative intensive care, surgical intervention was performed. A complete stenosis of the bowel lumen was found about 15 cm from the duodenojejunal angle, due to a process of sclerosis.

Introduction: Tumors of the small bowel are rare and present with nonspecific symptoms. That causes a significant delay in diagnosis and consequently a worse outcome for the patient.
Methods: In a retro-prospective study we evaluated a series of 63 patients with small bowel tumors operated in the First Surgical Clinic Iaşi, during 1992-2010: 18 duodenal tumors, 26 jejunum tumors and 19 ileum tumors.

Aim: To evaluate the immunoinflammatory markers that shape the evolution of acute peritonitis and to assess their utility in specifying the development of septic shock from peritonitis.
Material And Method: We conducted a prospective study on a sample of 100 patients with acute peritonitis, hospitalized during 2001-2005 and immunologically monitored. We realized 2000 dosages of immunoinflammatory markers for 15 days by 1200 simple radial immunodiffusion tests (IDRS), the Mancini-Carbonara method for C reactive protein, complement component C3, immunoglobulins and 836 ELISA tests to evaluate cytokines.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors represent a heterogeneous group of mesenchymal tumors that can develop throughout the gastrointestinal tract. We present the clinical case of a patient with such malignancies occurred in the proximal jejunum and clinically manifested by a severe digestive hemorrhage with hemorrhagic shock and severe posthemorrhagic anemia. Pre-operative diagnosis was possible only through the Entero-MRI.

Current indications for remediastinoscopy include an inadequate first procedure, recurrent and second primary lung cancer, lung cancer occurring after an unrelated disease such as lymphoma, and restaging after induction therapy. Nowadays, restaging is the most frequent indication for remediastinoscopy. We present the case of a 42 years old male with a mediastinoscopy performed in another surgical unit 4 months before being admitted in our department.

Aim: To detect the patients with colorectal adenomatous polyps or those with adenocarcinoma areas with a view to prevent and to treat the malignant disease.
Material And Method: A prospective study including 309 patients hospitalized between 2000-2005 diagnosed with isolated adenomatous polyps after repeated colonoscopies. The research method was selective screening with identification of risk factors regarding the evolution of colorectal polyps in early cancer, using colonoscopy and histopathological examination.
