[Laparoscopic adenomectomy versus open adenomectomy: A comparative study.].

Introduction: The improvements in laparoscopic urological surgery have made laparoscopic adenomectomy (LA) possible in voluminous prostatic adenomas.

Objective: The objective of this study was to assess the results of the LA and compared them with results of the open adenomectomy (OA).

Material And Methods: A comparative study of 41 patients undergoing LA [23 LA with Millin technique (LA-MT) and 21 with transvesical technique (LA-TV)] was conducted with 44 patients undergoing OL in prostate adenomas > 100 grams.

Malignant respiratory-digestive fistulas.

Purpose Of Review: Malignant tracheoesophageal or bronchoesophageal or, less commonly, esophageal-lung parenchyma fistulas are late developments of advanced cancer of the esophagus, lung or mediastinum. Patients present mainly with intractable cough and repeated respiratory infections. Rapid deterioration and death results if this condition is left untreated.

Pulmonary artery pseudoaneurysm arising from a lung tumor.

A 48-year-old smoker and alcoholic patient was admitted for life-threatening hemoptysis. The admission bronchoscopy showed a tumoral mass almost occluding the right bronchus intermedious. During the procedure the patient developed massive bleeding and underwent selective aortic angiogram and coiling of 2 bronchial arteries.
