Breast cancer is the second greatest cause of death among women worldwide; it comprises a group of heterogeneous diseases that evolves due to uncontrolled cellular growth and differentiation and the loss of normal programmed cell death. There are different molecular sub-types of breast cancer; therefore, various options are selected for treatment of different forms of metastatic breast cancer. However, the use of chemotherapeutic drugs is usually accompanied by deleterious side effects and the development of drug resistance when applied for a longer period.

Mice transplanted with human cord blood-derived hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) became a powerful experimental tool for studying the heterogeneity of human immune reconstitution and immune responses . Yet, analyses of human T cell maturation in humanized models have been hampered by an overall low immune reactivity and lack of methods to define predictive markers of responsiveness. Long-lived human lentiviral induced dendritic cells expressing the cytomegalovirus pp65 protein (iDCpp65) promoted the development of pp65-specific human CD8 T cell responses in NOD.

Laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy (LASH) is a safe and fast minimally invasive approach in hysterectomy. In order to extract the uterine body from the abdominal cavity, one condition for LASH is the morcellation of the tissue. The intra-abdominal dissemination of benign and occult malignant uterine cells is a possible risk of this method, which can be avoided by the use of special bags for laparoscopic in-bag morcellation.

Angular pregnancy is a rare condition in which the embryo is implanted in the lateral angle of the uterine cavity, medial to the uterotubal junction and round ligament, and causes life-threatening obstetric complications. It is important to differentiate this condition from interstitial and cornual pregnancy because they all result in emergency conditions. Although angular pregnancy can progress to term pregnancy, it may be associated with major obstetric complications such as uterine rupture, placental retention, postpartum hemorrhage, or may need further surgery and hysterectomy.

This article focuses on the anatomy, literature, and our own experiences in an effort to assist in the decision-making process of choosing between an umbilical or vaginal port. Umbilical access is more familiar to general surgeons; it is thicker than the transvaginal entry, and has more nerve endings and sensory innervations. This combination increases tissue damage and pain in the umbilical port site.

Introduction: Uterine myomatosis, a benign condition, is the most common indication for hysterectomies worldwide, affecting the reproductive goals and quality of health of women. However, gynecologists have been provided with interesting insights on its pathobiology, which are the basis for uterine-preserving therapies. The aim of this paper is to discuss the latest evidence on these mechanisms and its importance in the clinical practice.

Purpose: Uterine myomas are the main cause of benign uterine diseases in premenopausal women. Objective of the present paper is to investigate the current best treatment modalities of myomas, depending on age of the patient and her desire to preserve fertility, as well as on clinical presentation of this pathology, such as size, number, and location of fibroids and, furthermore, on surgical experience of the gynecologist.
Methods: The design of our work is a systematic literature review of existing studies, reviews, and meta-analysis conducted in PubMed and Cochrane Library to identify relevant literature.
