Introduction: Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer diagnosed worldwide and the leading cause of death in women globally, according to Globocan 2020. Hence, investigating novel pathways implicated in cancer progression and metastasis could lead to the development of targeted therapies and new treatment strategies in breast cancer. Recent studies reported an interplay between the receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE) and its ligands, S100 protein group, advanced glycation end products (AGEs) and high-mobility group box 1 protein (HMGB1) and breast cancer growth and metastasis.

Background: Since its inception in 1980, the MOHL index (% patients who are male, have occupational, hand, or leg dermatitis, respectively) and its later evolutions until the presently used MOAHLFA(P) index (adding % patients with atopic dermatitis, face dermatitis, age 40+ years and positive reaction(s) to ≥ 1 baseline series allergen) have been intended to convey important demographic and clinical information on the patients patch tested in a certain area and time, aiding the interpretation of the observed spectrum of sensitisation.
Objectives: To examine the current usage of the MOAHLFA(P) index and suggest consolidated definitions for its single items.
Methods: A title/abstract search in Medline identified publications mentioning the evolving acronyms.

: Vulvar epidermolytic hyperkeratosis (EHK) is an exceedingly rare dermatological condition, often presenting as solitary or multiple lesions in the vulvar region. Due to its clinical resemblance to other vulvar disorders, such as condyloma acuminatum, Bowenoid papulosis, and squamous cell carcinoma, vulvar EHK poses significant diagnostic challenges. While individual case reports and small case series have documented instances of vulvar EHK, comprehensive studies systematically consolidating the clinical, histopathological, and therapeutic aspects of this condition remain lacking.

Immunotherapy, particularly that based on blocking checkpoint proteins in many tumors, including melanoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), triple-negative breast (TNB cancer), renal cancer, and gastrointestinal and endometrial neoplasms, is a therapeutic alternative to chemotherapy. Immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI)-based therapies have the potential to target different pathways leading to the destruction of cancer cells. Although ICIs are an effective treatment strategy for patients with highly immune-infiltrated cancers, the development of different adverse effects including cutaneous adverse effects during and after the treatment with ICIs is common.

Alterations of plasma lipoprotein levels and oxidative stress are frequently observed in obese patients, including low high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol (HDL-C) levels and alterations of HDL composition. Dysfunctional HDL with lower antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties have also been demonstrated in obesity. There is increasing evidence that white adipose tissue (WAT) participates in several metabolic activities and modulates HDL-C levels and function.

Fabry disease (FD) belongs to the group of lysosomal storage diseases (LSD), which are characterised by insufficient activity of enzymes responsible for the intra-lysosomal breakdown of various substrates. The result is an uncontrolled accumulation of by-products of cellular metabolism. Lysosomal storage diseases are inherited diseases, transmitted mainly in an autosomal recessive fashion.

Cutaneous metastases from clear cell renal carcinoma (ccRC) are uncommon and often indicate a poor prognosis. These metastases typically occur on the scalp, face, and trunk, and they can be difficult to diagnose due to their resemblance to benign dermatological tumors. We report the case of a 56-year-old patient with a history of ccRC (TNM stage 4) who was referred to our dermatology department with two rapidly enlarging, painful lesions on the left jawline and scalp, which had developed one month and one week earlier, respectively.

Most common techniques for isolating eosinophils utilize CD16-negative selection, neglecting the CD16-positive fraction of eosinophils. Here, we present a protocol for isolating human CD16+ and CD16- eosinophils based on their autofluorescence using the MACSQuant Tyto cell sorter. We describe steps for purifying eosinophils and assessing purity, viability, and functional activity.

Long-term prophylaxis (LTP) has been shown to reduce the frequency of hereditary angioedema (HAE) attacks; however, attacks occurring in patients receiving LTP have not been well characterized. The objective of this systematic review was to evaluate the proportion of type I/II HAE (HAE-C1INH) patients who experience attacks while receiving LTP, the characteristics of these attacks, and associated on-demand therapy use. A systematic search was conducted in PubMed to identify studies reporting LTP use with plasma-derived C1 inhibitor (pdC1INH), lanadelumab, berotralstat, androgens, or antifibrinolytics in patients with HAE-C1INH.
