Cirrhotic cardiomyopathy (CCM) is a diagnostic entity defined as cardiac dysfunction (diastolic and/or systolic) in patients with liver cirrhosis, in the absence of overt cardiac disorder. Pathogenically, CCM stems from a combination of systemic and local hepatic factors that, through hemodynamic and neurohormonal changes, affect the balance of cardiac function and lead to its remodeling. Vascular changes in cirrhosis, mostly driven by portal hypertension, splanchnic vasodilatation, and increased cardiac output alongside maladaptively upregulated feedback systems, lead to fluid accumulation, venostasis, and cardiac dysfunction.

Objectives: To investigate the impact of compressed sensing - sensitivity encoding (CS-SENSE) acceleration factor on the diagnostic performance of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) within standard female pelvis protocol in patients with endometrial cancer.
Methods: T2-weighted turbo spin echo (TSE) sequence from standard female pelvic MRI protocol was chosen due to its long acquisition time and essential role in the evaluation of morphological characteristics of the female pelvic anatomical structures. Fully sampled reference scans and multiple prospectively 2x to 5x under-sampled CS-SENSE scans were acquired.

This study investigated the influence of two in vitro fertilization (IVF) protocols-controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) and a modified natural cycle protocol-on gene expression levels (Anti-Müllerian Hormone (), Anti-Müllerian Hormone Receptor Type 2 (), Follicle-Stimulating Hormone Receptor (), and Androgen Receptor ()) and the subsequent reproductive outcomes of assisted reproductive technology (ART). Gene expression, as well as oocyte, zygote, and embryo morphological parameters, were analyzed to evaluate the differences between the protocols. Our findings show that expression was significantly associated with successful fertilization, while expression correlated with improved embryo transfer outcomes.

Dysbiosis of the gastrointestinal tract is the most common cause of disease in childhood and adulthood. The formation of the intestinal microbiome begins in utero, and composition modification during life depends mainly on various genetic, nutritional, and environmental factors. The main cause of intestinal dysbiosis is improper nutrition due to a short period of breastfeeding, insufficient intake of fresh fruits and vegetables, and/or consumption of a large amount of processed food.

Recent findings highlighted the potential of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) as novel indicators of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), as they demonstrate altered expression in metabolic disorders, oxidative stress (OS) and inflammation (IFM). The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic potential and prognostic significance of the OS/IFM-related lncRNAs H19, and in GDM and their correlations with redox status-related parameters. The relative quantification of selected lncRNAs from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of GDM patients and controls (n = 50 each) was performed by qPCR.

Background: The term "fetal programming" refers to the effects of endogenous and exogenous corticosteroids, whether received from the mother or the fetus, on brain development and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis reset. The authors of this narrative review examine the WHO's guidelines for prenatal corticosteroids in pregnant women who are at high risk of premature delivery. These guidelines are regarded as the best available for preventing late-life problems resulting from preterm.

Purpose: We aimed to evaluate if ovarian stimulation with individualized dosing of recombinant follicle-stimulating hormone (rec-FSH) with follitropin delta compared with standard gonadotropin dosing reduce occurrence of follicular asynchrony in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Methods: Matched case-control study analyzed occurrence of follicular growth asynchrony during ovarian stimulation and IVF outcomes in women with PCOS. Follicular growth was considered to be asynchronous when one or two leading follicles were at least 4 mm larger in diameter than the rest of the cohort on day 5 and 9 of stimulation.

Background And Objectives: Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, with one in eight women suffering from this disease in her lifetime. The implementation of centrally organized mammography screening for women between 50 and 69 years of age was a major step in the direction of early detection. However, the participation rate reaches approximately 50% of the eligible women, one reason being the painful compression of the breast, cited as a major issue for not participating in this very important program.

Background: Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) following oral or intravenous chemotherapy often results in neuropathic pain, accompanied by symptoms such tingling, burning and hypersensitivity to stimuli, with a notable decline in quality of life (QoL). Effective therapies for CIPN are lacking, with a high demand for analgesics to address this issue. The QUCIP study aimed to assess the effectiveness of high concentration (179 mg) capsaicin patch (HCCP) in alleviating neuropathic pain and associated symptoms in breast cancer patients with confirmed CIPN.
