 Contemporary medical science has been using fat grafting in aesthetic and reconstructive procedures, consistently achieving successful outcomes. Hansen's disease, caused by , leads to hand deformities due to peripheral neuropathy, resulting in soft-tissue atrophy, volume loss, and compromised hand function. Tendon transfer surgery is a common remedy for functionality, but it often does not address aesthetic concerns and the patient's psychological impact of living with an atrophic hand.

Implementation of written asthma action plan among asthma patients in Türkiye: a multicenter, cross-sectional, descriptive study.

Background/aim: There is currently no data from Türkiye on whether, following a diagnosis of asthma, patients are given an asthma action plan to implement. There is also no data on whether patients can manage their treatment based on the provided asthma action plans. The present study aimed to determine the use of asthma action plans in Türkiye and the awareness levels of patients about these plans.

Polygenic score distribution differences across European ancestry populations: implications for breast cancer risk prediction.

Background: The 313-variant polygenic risk score (PRS) provides a promising tool for clinical breast cancer risk prediction. However, evaluation of the PRS across different European populations which could influence risk estimation has not been performed.

Methods: We explored the distribution of PRS across European populations using genotype data from 94,072 females without breast cancer diagnosis, of European-ancestry from 21 countries participating in the Breast Cancer Association Consortium (BCAC) and 223,316 females without breast cancer diagnosis from the UK Biobank.

CAD-CAM complete digital dentures: An improved clinical and laboratory workflow.

The purpose of this article was to present a novel clinical workflow for the fabrication of complete dentures using computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) technology. The dental technique consists of 3 clinical steps and 2 laboratory phases that result in the production of 2 CAD-CAM milled complete denture bases with prefabricated teeth. The integration of analog and digital procedures and materials maximizes their benefits in the planning and fabrication of complete dentures, with the goal of improving clinical outcomes.

Ascertainment of small airway dysfunction using oscillometry to better define asthma control and future risk: are we ready to implement it in clinical practice?

Methods: Data from patients with pN1 PCa and received RT with short term (ST, ≤6 mo) or long term (LT, >6 mo) ADT were obtained from 4 academic institutions. Biochemical progression free survival (bPFS) and distant metastasis free survival (DMFS) were evaluated.

People with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are at increased risk of fractures in comparison to the non-CKD population and fractures are associated with high mortality and worsening quality of life. The higher risk observed in the CKD population is related to the complex interplay of CKD-mineral bone disorder (MBD) abnormalities causing changes in bone turnover (T), mineralization (M), and volume (V), along with other risk factors accumulated as glomerular filtration rate declines.
