Purpose: This systematic review aims to compare clinical outcomes of digital dentures with conventional dentures.
Materials And Methods: This study followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines and was registered in Prospero. The formulated population, intervention, comparison, outcome (PICO) question was "What is the clinical outcome of digital versus conventional complete dentures (CDs) in edentulous patients?".

Low maxillary bone density associated with physiological bone remodeling and resorption accelerated by the presence or history of periodontal disease can prevent implant placement without either ridge and/or sinus augmentation in atrophic maxillary edentulous cases. As an alternative to avoid bone grafting and provide immediacy in restorative treatment care for the patient, remote anchorages to the basal bones of the maxilla of the patient are being used with zygomatic or pterygoid implants. The trans-sinus implant, when indicated can offer a reliable alternative to the zygomatic dental implant in that treatment of the severely edentulous maxilla.

Along with the widespread use of dental implants, regenerative procedures have become an indispensable tool for implant surgeons in managing residual ridges and the surrounding bone. Putty bone grafts have significantly superior handling characteristics in comparison to particulates. These include ease of placement, enhanced particle containment, and a viscous consistency that has allowed for unique delivery systems to be developed.

Background: Patient-related variables such as cost of treatment, length of the treatment period, and comfort provided by the interim prosthesis when treatment planning for full-arch rehabilitation are often neglected in dental publications.
Methods: Two patient cohorts were followed up longitudinally in this study: the "All-on-4 treatment concept group" and the "historical group." The number of implants, total treatment time, number of surgical procedures, number of sinus grafts, necessity for immediate provisional implants, adjusted cost associated for treatment in each group, and the quality of interim prosthesis were compared.

This manuscript describes the reconstruction of a maxillary anterior segment using immediate implant placement and immediate implant loading techniques, aided by computer-guided implant treatment software and stereolithographic models and surgical templates, in a patient with a history of eating disorder. Her medical and dental histories did not make her a candidate for the use of conventional 2-stage implant surgery and restorative procedures along with an interim removable prosthesis.

Although a number of approaches to implant-supported restoration of severely atrophic maxillae and mandibles have been developed, most of these treatments are costly and protracted. An exception is the All-on-Four concept, which uses only 4 implants to support an acrylic, screw-retained provisional prosthesis delivered on the day of implant placement, followed by a definitive prosthesis approximately 4 months later. After the introduction of a new implant design in 2008, a new protocol was developed for provisionally treating patients with severely atrophic jaws using the All-on-Four concept and 3.

Patient well-being is always the goal of rehabilitation of edentulism; however, evaluations of treatment success often overlook the patient's subjective feelings about comfort, function, speech, social image, social inhibitions, psychological discomfort, and/or disabilities. The purpose of this study was to assess these patient responses using an oral health questionnaire. To assess such feelings, a self-administered 20-question multiple-choice patient-reported Edentulous Patient Impact Questionnaire was developed, based upon the previously validated Oral Health Impact Profile patient-assessment tool.

Immediate function with Brånemark implants is well established for the mandible. This article describes a series of 857 implants placed consecutively in which very few implants failed or lost bone despite the dynamic healing conditions of simultaneous dental extractions and bone leveling. Though these findings are relatively early, 3 years or fewer, it appears that the immediate function All-on-Four procedure can be done with a high degree of confidence for the mandible--putting into question the need for additional implants.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical outcomes of trans-sinus dental implant placement by use of bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2) grafting and immediate functional loading by the all-on-4 scheme.
Patients And Methods: After bone reduction to create the all-on-4 shelf or because of severe maxillary atrophy and prominent sinus anatomy, 10 patients were selected to undergo trans-sinus implant placement and simultaneous BMP-2 sinus floor grafting for immediate provisional loading. Insertion torque was measured upon implant placement.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the incidence and treatment of hour glass variant mandibles for All On Four implant placement.
Materials And Methods: Cone beam CAT scans were analyzed for 719 patients to determine the incidence of alveolar constriction in the mandible. Ten patients with alveolar constriction were treated over a 2-year period and retrospectively studied after 1 year in function.

Purpose: A retrospective study was done to evaluate the use of transalveolar implant placement in the mandible posterior to the mental nerve.
Materials And Methods: Ten patient charts were reviewed of twenty implants placed transalveolarly with evaluation of function, osseointegration, and bone level for 1 year by unregistered periapical x-rays.
Results: Ten patients which received twenty transalveolar implants were followed for 1 year.

The All-on-Four treatment concept provides patients with an immediately loaded fixed prosthesis supported by 4 implants. This single-center retrospective study evaluated the concept while using the NobelActive implant (Nobel Biocare, Gothenburg, Sweden). Seven hundred eight implants placed in 165 subjects demonstrated a cumulative survival rate of 99.
