Trichostasis spinulosa (TS) is a condition where hair follicles retain dead hair, leading to a plugged look, and laser hair removal is being explored as a treatment.
This study evaluated the effectiveness of an 800 nm diode laser on 50 Indian patients with TS, with treatments given over two sessions eight weeks apart.
Results showed that 90% of patients achieved complete clearance, with long-term effectiveness observed, as there were minimal recurrences after treatment, highlighting the potential of laser therapy for TS.
