Various aggressive lymphomas entities have been associated with immunodeficiency. To provide further evidence that also MYC-negative high-grade B-cell (formerly Burkitt-like) lymphoma with 11q aberrations comprises an immunodeficiency-related subtype, we here conducted a comprehensive pathological and genetic workup of a 25-year-old patient with this type of lymphoma and simultaneous papillary renal cell carcinoma. The patient developed both malignancies following extensive childhood immunosuppression and a kidney transplant.

Papillary renal cell carcinoma (pRCC) is the second most frequent renal cancer subtype but has no indicated targeted treatments. MET inhibition may be a treatment for MET-driven pRCC, but there is a large group of non-MET-driven pRCC without targeted therapy. Activation of NRF2-ARE pathway has been suggested to be involved in pRCC.

White matter damage and subsequent demyelination significantly contribute to long-term functional impairment after ischaemic stroke. Identifying novel pharmacological targets to restore myelin integrity by promoting the maturation of oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs) into new myelinating oligodendrocytes may open new perspectives for ischaemic stroke treatment. In this respect, previous studies highlighted the role of the G protein-coupled membrane receptor 17 (GPR17) as a key regulator of OPC differentiation in experimental models of brain injury, including ischaemic stroke.

Background: Prospective trials have shown similar outcomes with partial nephrectomy (PN) in patients with localized renal cell carcinoma (RCC), and multiple studies suggest increasing the use of the technique. We hypothesize that patients who stem from minority groups, as well as Medicare and Medical, have less access to this specialized procedure and, therefore, have a higher rate of radical nephrectomy (RN).
Methods: We interrogated the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) database, which collects information from all inpatient admissions, emergency room visits and inpatient/outpatient procedures in the state.

In patients with renal masses, when intervention is warranted, partial nephrectomy is preferred when feasible, especially for T1 renal masses. Thermal ablation, however, has become an accepted alternative treatment of small renal neoplasms with excellent oncologic outcomes. The National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines include thermal ablation as a treatment strategy for managing T1a and select T1b masses.

Background: Renal cell carcinoma (RCC), the most common malignant renal tumor, is primarily treated by surgical resection, including radical nephrectomy (RN) and partial nephrectomy (PN). At present, the choice of surgery mainly depends on the comprehensive evaluation of patients' clinical data, including histological classification, such as clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) and non-clear cell renal cell carcinoma (nccRCC), and RENAL (radius, exophytic/endophytic, nearness, anterior/posterior, and location) score. Compared with biopsy and contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT), contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) is safer and less invasive.
