: Objective: To discuss therapeutic outcomes in patients with symptomatic near-narrow internal auditory canal (NNIAC). : We retrospectively analyzed the records of 26 symptomatic patients diagnosed with NNIAC, who had been treated with anti-epileptic drugs. In addition to clinical and radiological data, we recorded I-III latencies of auditory brainstem responses prior to and after medical therapy.

Background And Aims: Bulevirtide (BLV) 2 mg/day is EMA approved for treatment of compensated chronic hepatitis due to Delta virus (HDV) infection, however real-life data in large cohorts of patients with cirrhosis are lacking.
Methods: Consecutive HDV-infected patients with cirrhosis starting BLV 2 mg/day since September 2019 were included in a European retrospective multicenter real-life study (SAVE-D). Patient characteristics before and during BLV treatment were collected.

: This study determined real-life care trajectories before and after initiation of noninvasive ventilation (NIV) in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Caregiver adherence to respiratory management recommendations and the associated survival rate of people with ALS were also assessed. : Data were obtained from a tertiary center prospective ALS database that included 10 years of follow-up data for people with ALS.

Coronary artery disease (CAD) affects over 200 million individuals globally, accounting for approximately 9 million deaths annually. Patients living with diabetes mellitus exhibit an up to fourfold increased risk of developing CAD compared to individuals without diabetes. Furthermore, CAD is responsible for 40 to 80 percent of the observed mortality rates among patients with type 2 diabetes.

Phage therapy uses viruses (phages) against antibiotic resistance. Tailoring treatments to specific patient strains requires stocks of various highly concentrated purified phages. It, therefore, faces challenges: titration duration and specificity to a phage/bacteria couple; purification affecting stability; and highly concentrated suspensions tending to aggregate.

Introduction: The emergence of diverse resistance mechanisms after osimertinib therapy, including on-target epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations and off-target alterations, warrants investigation of novel therapeutics to overcome these challenges and improve patient outcomes.
Methods: COMPOSIT was a French, retrospective, multicenter, cohort study of the effectiveness and tolerability of osimertinib in combination with other targeted therapies in patients with advanced EGFR-mutant (EGFRm) non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who harbored other oncogenic drivers as primary or acquired resistance mechanisms. Real-world progression-free survival (rwPFS), overall survival (OS), and objective response rate (ORR) were the primary endpoints.

Purpose: For the athlete, anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) rupture and its surgical management are often a turning point in their career. Success and time to return to sport are essential parameters for athletes and their support staff, so it is critical to understand the prognostic factors influencing return to sport after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR). The aim of this study was to determine the influence of hamstring muscle composition on muscle power following ACLR with autogenous hamstring grafts.

Introduction: Combined anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscal tear patterns and their effect on knee stability have been widely researched, however, their evolution and repairability from time of injury have been scarcely addressed. When addressed with delay, meniscal lesions associated with ACL tears may increase in severity and irreparability. This study aims to investigate the incidence, rate and pattern of meniscus tears in the context of ACL deficient knees and to assess the meniscal condition in early versus late ACL reconstruction (ACLR).

Background/objectives: The large number and heterogeneity of causes of uveitis make the etiological diagnosis a complex task. The clinician must consider all the information concerning the ophthalmological and extra-ophthalmological features of the patient. Diagnostic machine learning algorithms have been developed and provide a correct diagnosis in one-half to three-quarters of cases.

Purpose: Genomic profiling is a major component for first-line treatment decisions in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and the timeliness of biomarker testing is essential to improve time to treatment initiation (TTI) or avoid inappropriate treatment.
Patients And Methods: The phase III LIBELULE trial (NCT03721120) included patients with radiological suspicion of advanced lung cancer. They were randomized (1:1), the control arm receiving diagnostic procedures according to each center's practice and the liquid biopsy arm with additional testing performed at the first visit using the InVisionFirst®-Lung assay.

In the era of biological treatments and small molecules, this study assessed therapeutic patient education (TPE) in managing adult atopic dermatitis (AD), focusing on disease severity, quality of life, and the use of systemic treatments. This multicentre study included 260 adult AD patients, with 184 undergoing a full TPE programme and 76 control patients. Evaluations included disease severity, quality of life (DLQI), and systemic treatment use.

Background: Nivolumab obtained approval in advanced melanoma (AM) with weight-adjusted dose (WAD) administration (3 mg/kg/2 weeks). In 2018, the dosage regimen was changed to flat dose (FD) administration (240 mg/2 weeks or 480 mg/4 weeks) based on a modeling study, without clinical data.
Methods: AM patients have been prospectively included in the French national multicenter MelBase database since 2013.

Introduction: Improving adverse events following immunisation (AEFI) detection is vital for vaccine safety surveillance, as an early safety signal can help minimize risks. In February 2022, the World Health Organization reported a preliminary signal on sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) following coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination, 54 million persons in France received at least one dose, covering 78.8% of the population within a year.

Background: Personalized alignment in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) has demonstrated good functional outcomes for knees with varus alignment. However, limited research has explicitly addressed optimal alignment strategies for valgus knees. The aims of the current study were to assess the impact of the postoperative knee alignment and of the degree of correction of knee alignment on functional outcomes and satisfaction in a population with preoperative valgus and to evaluate the complication and revision rates based on postoperative alignment.

Purpose: The dual mobility cup (DMC) reduces the dislocation rates in total hip arthroplasty (THA). DMC systems include anatomical (non-modular or monoblock) (ADM) and modular dual mobility (MDM) components (Stryker Orthopaedics, Mahwah, NJ, USA). This review aims to assess differences between these two types of DMC implants concerning dislocation and revision rates, as well as patient-reported outcomes.

Despite their indisputable importance in neuroblastoma (NB) pathology, knowledge of the bases of NB plasticity and heterogeneity remains incomplete. They may be rooted in developmental trajectories of their lineage of origin, the sympatho-adrenal neural crest. We find that implanting human NB cells in the neural crest of the avian embryo allows recapitulating the metastatic sequence until bone marrow involvement.

Background: Demonstration of trial emulation ability to benchmark randomised controlled trials (RCTs) from real-world data (RWD) is required to increase confidence in the use of routinely collected data for decision making in oncology.
Methods: To assess the frequency with which emulation findings align with RCTs regarding effect size on overall survival (OS) in metastatic breast cancer (MBC), 8 of 13 pre-selected pivotal RCTs in MBC were emulated using data from 32,598 patients enrolled in the French ESME-MBC cohort between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2021. Adjustment methods and confounders were selected a priori for each emulation; stabilized weight was the reference method to mitigate confounding.
