JCO The primary analysis of the Ro-CHOP phase III randomized controlled trial (ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT01796002) established that romidepsin (Ro) plus cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisone (CHOP) did not yield an increased efficacy compared with CHOP alone as first-line treatment of peripheral T-cell lymphoma. We report the planned final analysis 5 years after the last patient enrolled.

This review addresses the impact of elevated ambient temperatures and heatwaves on patients with neurological and mental health disorders, including multiple sclerosis, synucleinopathies, dementia, epilepsies, mental health, and stroke. Patients with such conditions are highly vulnerable during heatwaves because of functional disorders affecting sleep, thermoregulation, autonomic system reactivity, mood, and cognitive ability.

Purpose: One of the most pertinent questions in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is: what could be considered normal coronal alignment? This study aims to define normal, neutral, deviant and aberrant coronal alignment using large data from a computed tomography (CT)-scan database and previously published phenotypes.

Methods: Coronal alignment parameters from 11,191 knee osteoarthritis (OA) patients were measured based on three dimensional reconstructed CT data using a validated planning software. Bile acids (BA) are key for liver regeneration and injury. This study aims at analyzing the changes in the BA pool induced by ischemia-reperfusion (IRI) and investigates the impact of hypothermic oxygenated perfusion (HOPE) on the BA pool compared to static cold storage (SCS). In a porcine model of IRI, liver grafts underwent 30 min of asystolic warm ischemia followed by 6 h of SCS (n = 6) ± 2 h of HOPE (n = 6) and 2 h of ex-situ warm reperfusion.

Objectives: In head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors remain inefficient in most patients, which points to the need for better characterization of immune checkpoint (ICP) molecule expression.

Material And Methods: We evaluated the expression of 22 ICP ligands (ICPL) in 2,176 malignant cells from 10 patients in a public single-cell RNA-sequencing dataset and in two cohorts of HNSCC patients for which gene expression data are available.

Results: Based on ICPL expression, malignant cells formed three distinct clusters characterized either by a strong expression of ICPL together with an immune phenotype linked to IFN-γ response (cluster 1) or by a weak ICPL expression and little response to IFN-γ (clusters 2 and 3).

Background: Following a traumatic event, 40-80% of the patients with acute stress disorder (ASD) will develop post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), 67% at 6 months. Alpha1-blockers are effective in treating some symptoms of PTSD but their usefulness in acute stress situations remains unclear. We hypothesized that reducing noradrenergic hyperactivity with an alpha1-blocker during the acute phase after a traumatic event could prevent the transition to PTSD in patients with ASD.

Only 30% of patients with McCune-Albright syndrome (MAS)-associated acromegaly achieve biochemical control under first-generation somatostatin receptor ligands (fg-SRLs), while pegvisomant fails to normalize insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-I) in >20% of cases. Here, we report all the patients with MAS-associated acromegaly treated with pasireotide long-acting release (LAR) in our center. Pasireotide LAR 20 mg/month resulted in rapid and long-term IGF-I normalization in patients #1 and #3.
