Relationship and sexual violence (RSV) disproportionately affect youth in immigrant and other marginalized communities yet few prevention initiatives are truly grounded in their experiences. The current study represents a pilot implementation evaluation of youth-led workshops to engage significant adults (parents, grandparents, aunts, adult siblings, community leaders) as RSV prevention partners in diverse communities in a large urban area. The current mixed methods evaluation examined the perceptions of 66 adults and six youth leaders of four, day-long adult training workshops.

Research productivity and outcomes of junior researchers are usually correlated with the degree and quality of mentorship they receive. A bottom-up approach was followed to develop a research group at the Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI), the major cancer center in Tanzania, to build upon the existing clinical and research resources and institutional global collaborations. This manuscript outlines the progress of education in the field of medical oncology in Egypt over the past 50 years. The manuscript illustrates the origin of the Egyptian medical oncology program since the creation of the only specialized cancer center in the country, the National Cancer Institute of Cairo University (NCI-Cairo) in 1969, from Cairo University Medical School. The manuscript also outlines the NCI-Cairo's educational program for developing a cadre of academic medical oncologists for NCI-Cairo, other Egyptian medical institutions, and countries in the Middle East and Africa.

Objective: To explore the potential rehabilitative effect of art therapy and its underlying mechanisms in Parkinson's disease (PD).

Methods: Observational study of eighteen patients with PD, followed in a prospective, open-label, exploratory trial. Before and after twenty sessions of art therapy, PD patients were assessed with the UPDRS, Pegboard Test, Timed Up and Go Test (TUG), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Modified Fatigue Impact Scale and PROMIS-Self-Efficacy, Montreal Cognitive Assessment, Rey-Osterrieth Complex Figure Test (RCFT), Benton Visual Recognition Test (BVRT), Navon Test, Visual Search, and Stop Signal Task.

Purpose Of Review: To review understand the epidemiology, background, neuropharmacology, and histopathology of literature verified cases, and likely etiopathogenic mechanisms.

Recent Findings: There are only a handful of histologically confirmed patients in the literature with cerebral vasculitis because of drug abuse.

Summary: There is little justification for invasive laboratory investigation given the ready availability of highly accurate vascular neuroimaging techniques to dictate management, which usually rests upon avoidance of further exposure and minimizing the secondary neurotoxic effects of the abused substances and polypharmacy use.

Background: Cervical cancer is the most common cancer among women in Sub-Saharan countries, including Tanzania. While early detection and diagnosis are available in some parts of this large country, radiotherapy has been only available at the Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI), in the capital city of Dar es Salaam and is just starting in a few regions.

The oncogenic mechanisms of overnutrition, a confirmed independent cancer risk factor, remain poorly understood. Herein, we report that enoyl-CoA hydratase-1 (ECHS1), the enzyme involved in the oxidation of fatty acids (FAs) and branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), senses nutrients and promotes mTOR activation and apoptotic resistance. Nutrients-promoted acetylation of lys of ECHS1 impedes ECHS1 activity by impairing enoyl-CoA binding, promoting ECHS1 degradation and blocking its mitochondrial translocation through inducing ubiquitination.
