In addition to physical examination, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging are routinely used to diagnose PTA, sonography is less often used. With the help of the latter, it is possible to reliably distinguish PTA from both paratonsillitis and a number of other diseases, including an aneurysm of the internal carotid artery, using the Doppler mode.

Respiratory virus coinfections during the COVID-19 pandemic: epidemiologic analysis and clinical outcomes from the Phase 2/3 molnupiravir trial (MOVe-OUT).

Unlabelled: This exploratory analysis assessed the incidence of respiratory viral coinfections and their impact on clinical outcomes in non-hospitalized adults with mild-to-moderate coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) treated with molnupiravir versus placebo for 5 days in the Phase 2/3 MOVe-OUT trial (NCT04575597), which took place in October 2020 to January 2021 (Phase 2, = 302) and May 2021 to October 2021 (Phase 3, = 1,433). Congenital tracheal stenosis in children is a rare, severe and life-threatening respiratory tract malformation characterized by respiratory failure. We have performed 74 surgical interventions in these patients under extracorporeal membrane oxygenation between 2013 and 2022. In this article, we present surgical treatment of a newborn with congenital tracheal stenosis.
