Introduction: In adult-onset asthma, two major endotypes have been proposed: T2 with eosinophilia and non-T2 characterised by neutrophils and interleukin (IL)-17. The objective of the study was to examine the endotype marker profile in patients with severe asthma who were hospitalized for exacerbations, with a focus on differentiating between viral and non-viral triggers.
Material And Methods: Forty-nine patients with asthma, admitted for exacerbations, and 51 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited.

Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) is a type II membrane glycoprotein overexpressed in a variety of tumors, especially in nearly all prostate cancers, which makes it a potentially attractive antigen for targeted cancer therapies. More importantly, PSMA, due to no shedding into circulation and efficient internalization after antibody binding, becomes a potential target for antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), a valid and emerging paradigm of cancer treatment. Four and eight PSMA-directed ADCs have been or are currently being investigated in clinical trials (three of which failed to confirm the promising results while one is currently being evaluated in an ongoing clinical study) and preclinical studies, respectively, for the treatment of PSMA-positive solid tumors, especially prostate cancer.

Forty-one derivatives of spirooxindoles, active against HCT-116 colon cancer cells, underwent pharmacophore-based 3D-QSAR analysis to understand their correlation with anti-cancer activity. The study identified a seven-point pharmacophore model (ADHHRRR1) and QSAR models, offering insights for lead optimization and novel analogue design, thus advancing anti-cancer drug discovery. This research underscores the value of molecular modeling in elucidating structure-activity relationships and enhancing drug development efforts.

Corosolic acid (CA) is a well-known natural pentacyclic triterpene found in numerous therapeutic plants that can exhibit many bioactivities including anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor actions. The current investigation explores the chemoprotective roles of CA against azoxymethane (AOM)-induced colonic aberrant crypt foci (ACF) in rats. Thirty Sprague Dawley rats were grouped in 5 cages; Group A, normal control rats inoculated subcutaneously (sc) with two doses of normal saline and fed orally on 10% tween 20; Groups B-E received two doses (sc) of azoxymethane in two weeks and treated with either 10% tween 20 (group B) or two intraperitoneal injections of 35 mg/kg 5-fluorouracil each week for one month (group C), while group D and E treated with 30 and 60 mg/kg, respectively, for 2 months.

Flying ad hoc network (FANET) is a new technology, which creates a self-organized wireless network containing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In FANET, routing protocols deal with important challenges due to limited energy, frequent link failures, high mobility of UAVs, and limited communication range of UAVs. Thus, a suitable path is always essential to transmit data between UAVs.

Due to their simplicity of implementation and compliance with the encryption issue, chaotic models are often utilized in picture encryption applications. Despite having many benefits, this approach still has a crucial space issue that makes encryption algorithms based on it susceptible to brute-force assaults. This research's proposed novel picture encryption technique has a vast key space and great key sensitivity.

Developing proficient organic solar cells with improved optoelectronic properties is still a matter of concern. In the current study, with an aspiration to boost the optoelectronic properties and proficiency of organic solar cells, seven new small-molecule acceptors (Db1-Db7) are presented by altering the central core of the reference molecule (DBD-4F). The optoelectronic aspects of DBD-4F and Db1-Db7 molecules were explored using the density functional theory (DFT) approach, and solvent-state calculations were assessed utilizing TD-SCF simulations.

Nectin-4 (Nectin cell adhesion molecule 4), a type I transmembrane cell adhesion protein, was demonstrated to be overexpressed in a variety of tumors, making it an attractive antigen for targeted therapies such as antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). Of great note, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approval of the first Nectin-4-directed ADC, enfortumab vedotin (EV), in urothelial cancer (UC) not only introduced Nectin-4 as a clinically validated and reliable target antigen but also confirmed the evolving role of Nectin-4-directed ADCs as novel and promising cancer therapeutics. In addition to EV, there have been or are currently being seven and eleven Nectin-4-directed ADCs, respectively, in various stages of clinical trials and preclinical development, offering a promising future for the treatment of Nectin-4-positive cancer patients.

Cancer is one of the deadliest diseases to humanity. There is significant progress in treating this disease, but developing some drugs that can fight this disease remains a challenge in the field of medical research. Thirteen new 1,2,3-triazole linked tetrahydrocurcumin derivatives were synthesized by click reaction, including a 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction of tetrahydrocurcumin baring mono-alkyne with azides in good yields, and their in vitro anticancer activity against four cancer cell lines, including human cervical carcinoma (HeLa), human lung adenocarcinoma (A549), human hepatoma carcinoma (HepG2), and human colon carcinoma (HCT-116) were investigated using MTT(3-(4,5-dimethylthiazole-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetraz-olium bromide) assay.

Marine organisms play a vital role as the main providers of essential and functional food. Yet they also constitute the primary pathway through which humans are exposed to total arsenic (As) in their diets. Since it is well known that the toxicity of this metalloid ultimately depends on its chemical forms, speciation in As is an important issue.

Clinopodium menthifolium (wood calamint) is a folkloric medicinal plant ingested as a treatment for many human disorders including gastric disorders. Our study evaluates the anti-ulcer potentials of Clinopodium menthifolium ethanol extracts (CMEE) in induced gastric ulcers in rats. Thirty Dawley male rats were divided into 5 groups: normal and ulcer controls, treated orally with Tween 20%; reference rats treated with Omeprazole 20 mg/kg, and the remaining two groups received 250 and 500 mg/kg CMEE for 2 weeks.

SARS-CoV-2 has been identified by the WHO as a new virus causing mild to severe respiratory illnesses that belong to the Coronavirus family. The virus underwent rapid and continuous changes in the genetic material, especially the S gene, during COVID-19 pandemic and generated a number of new variants announced by WHO in late 2020. Mutations in the S gene have greatly affected virus pathogenesis as the spike protein is responsible for many critical processes.
