Unlabelled: Subretinal prostheses have been developed to stimulate survived retinal ganglion cells (RGCs), indirectly following the physiological visual pathways. However, current spreading from the prosthesis electrode causes the activation of unintended RGCs, thereby limiting the spatial resolution of artificial vision. Granulomatous rosacea (GR) is a rare and distinct variant of rosacea. We report three cases of recalcitrant GR successfully treated with pulsed-dye laser (PDL) and provide experimental evidence supporting its potential as a treatment option. PDL treatment demonstrated remarkable efficacy in the three clinical cases, despite their resistance to conventional therapies.

Retinal prostheses have shown some clinical success in restoring vision in patients with retinitis pigmentosa. However, the post-implantation visual acuity does not exceed that of legal blindness. This study aimed to determine if time to achieve full enteral feeding (TFF) directly impacted long-term neurodevelopmental delay (NDD) and whether long-term postnatal growth failure (PGF) was a mediator of this association in very-low-birth-weight (VLBW) infants. Using prospectively collected cohort data from the Korean Neonatal Network, we included eligible VLBW infants who achieved TFF at least once and classified enrolled infants into four groups using exposure severity (P1 to P4 as TFF < 16, 16-30, 31-45, and > 45 postnatal days, respectively). After adjusting for confounding variables, survival without NDD was significantly decreased in P4 infants compared with that in P2 infants.

Retinal prostheses have shown some clinical success in patients with retinitis pigmentosa and age-related macular degeneration. However, even after the implantation of a retinal prosthesis, the patient's visual acuity is at best less than 20/420. Reduced visual acuity may be explained by a decrease in the signal-to-noise ratio due to the spontaneous hyperactivity of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) found in degenerate retinas.

Intradermal injection of botulinum neurotoxin is a frequently performed procedure in aesthetic dermatology to improve facial skin tone, texture, fine wrinkles, and enlarged pores. In practice, botulinum neurotoxin type A is also used to reduce skin oiliness of the face. There is increasing evidence that acetylcholine plays specific roles in sebum production, suggesting that botulinum neurotoxin type A may reduce sebum production by interfering with cholinergic transmission between sebaceous glands and autonomic nerve terminals.
