To clarify the survival benefit of sequential curative treatment post transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) for Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) stage B hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), we retrospectively analyzed HCC patients at a hospital. From July 2017 to July 2020, 787 treatment-naïve HCC patients underwent initial treatment; 77 (9.8%) meeting inclusion criteria were enrolled.

Background: Diffuse coronary artery disease may need multiple overlapping stents, associated with less favorable outcomes than those of a single stent. The availability of longer stents can circumvent the need for overlapping stents in long lesions. This prospective, single-arm, SPIRIT 48 trial evaluated the safety and effectiveness of Abbott's next-generation drug-eluting stent, XIENCE Skypoint 48, in patients with coronary artery disease with long de novo native coronary lesions.

Since we previously found that GATA6 promotes the stemness in HCT-116 and HT-29 human colorectal cancer (CRC) cells, we aimed to identify the downstream mediator(s) of the stemness-stimulating effect of GATA6 herein. LRH-1 was found as a direct target of GATA6 and its upregulation promoted the stemness in both HCT-116 and HT-29 cells.

Double-Barreled and Branched Endografting for Thoracoabdominal Aortic Aneurysm: The Hexapus Technique.

Objective: To treat thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm (TAAA), we introduced an alternative "Hexapus" technique by double-barreled and branched endografting.

Technique And Result: We established 2 transfemoral and 2 transaxillary access routes first and then deployed two abdominal bifurcated stentgrafts landing at the descending thoracic aorta through transfemoral routes, respectively. Two pairs of parallel stentgrafts were deployed via bilateral transaxillary route from each of contralateral limbs of main body stentgrafts to visceral arteries.

Background: Brain metastases are observable in 20-40% of non-small cell lung cancer patients, but standard treatments for such metastases may be intolerable to some. Reminiscence Therapy Improves Cognitive Functions and Reduces Depressive Symptoms in Elderly People With Dementia: A Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials.

Objective: Cognitive function impairments and depressive symptoms are common in elderly people with dementia. Previous meta-analyses of outdated and small-scale studies have reported inconsistent results regarding the effects of reminiscence therapy on cognitive functions and depressive symptoms; therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis by including more recent randomized controlled trials (RCTs) with large sample sizes to investigate the immediate and long-term (6-10 months) effects of reminiscence therapy on cognitive functions and depressive symptoms in elderly people with dementia.

Review Methods: Electronic databases, including PubMed, Medline, CINAHL, PsycINFO, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, ProQuest, Google Scholar, and Chinese databases were searched to select eligible articles.

Trans-foramen ovale biopsy of a parasellar lesion guided by intraoperative CT neuronavigation with MRI fusion: a case report.

A 23-year-old male presented with a parasellar lesion which was suspected as disseminated intracranial germ cell tumour. The diagnosis of germinoma was made using immunohistochemistry from percutaneous trans-foramen ovale biopsy. This report describes the role of neuronavigation-guided biopsy through the foramen ovale for lesions in the parasellar region.

Interaction effect of work excitement and work frustration on the professional commitment of nurses in Taiwan.

Background: The current shortage of professional nurses in Taiwan both undermines hospital quality of care and raises hospitals' human resource management costs. Few studies have concurrently investigated the interaction effect between professional commitment and, respectively, the positive and negative work attitudes of nurses. Results of this investigation may help improve strategies designed to raise nurse retention rates.

The effect of oral training on vital signs of premature infants.

Aims And Objectives: This study aimed to develop an applicable oral training protocol and test its effects on vital sign stabilisation in premature infants.

Background: Oral training improves the feeding behaviour of premature infants. However, the inconsistencies of oral training procedures in previous studies obscure the interventional effect of oral training on vital sign stabilisation in premature infants.

[A project to promote patient positioning accuracy in operating rooms].

Backgrounds: Inappropriate patient positioning during surgery causes respiratory pattern changes, inadequate gaseous exchange, tissue hypoperfusion and disruption of skin integrity. Inadvertent loosening of positioning devices on a patient in our ward during surgery caused surgical field contamination. We thus proposed a project to promote patient positioning accuracy in operating rooms to improve patient safety.

Inflammation alters trafficking of extrasynaptic AMPA receptors in tonically firing lamina II neurons of the rat spinal dorsal horn.

Peripheral inflammation alters AMPA receptor (AMPAR) subunit trafficking and increases AMPAR Ca(2+) permeability at synapses of spinal dorsal horn neurons. However, it is unclear whether AMPAR trafficking at extrasynaptic sites of these neurons also changes under persistent inflammatory pain conditions. Using patch-clamp recording combined with Ca(2+) imaging and cobalt staining, we found that, under normal conditions, an extrasynaptic pool of AMPARs in rat substantia gelatinosa (SG) neurons of spinal dorsal horn predominantly consists of GluR2-containing Ca(2+)-impermeable receptors.

[A proposal to improve operating room nursing personnel adherence to mandated X-ray protection measures].

Background: Cognition of and attitudes toward personal radiation protection amongst operating room nurses have been shown to be inappropriate and insufficient. Research has shown that adherence to full radiation protection measures in the operating room is at only 64 percent. Improvements targeting radiation protection measure compliance were thus developed in order to enhance employee welfare and working environment safety.

[A project to improve the validity rate for nursing staff operating single door autoclave sterilizers].

This project was designed to improve the low validity rate for nurses responsible to operate single door autoclave sterilizers in the operating room. By investigating the current status, we found that the nursing staff validity rate of cognition on the autoclave sterilizer was 85%, and the practice operating check validity rate was only 80%. Such was due to a lack of in-service education.
